DELICIOUS VEGAN ICE CREAM

I love that the ice cream soft serve is vegan!! And it only costs 50¥!! IKEA is THE best and cheapest place to get vegan ice cream in Tokyo. When I went this time they had the vanilla flavor as well as a kiwi flavor that was so good!! It is a must try for vegans looking for a sweet treat in Tokyo.

Pros: Taste! , Cheap

Great to have options unexpectedly

I thought I'd take a look in ikea and was pleasantly surprised to find two vegan soft serve options, vegan meatballs, vegan lollies, vegan chips and vegan ramen.

Pros: Soft serve , Lollies, Chips

Cons: Meatball take home dish was not vegan

Plant chicken nuggets

Each IKEA has different vegan options. You order at a cash-only kiosk, then take your ticket to the pick up point. This branch has ‘chicken’ nuggets that are tasty and filling. They would be even better with some dipping sauce (not on the menu yet). There is a plant based Keema curry with rice. You can also get 2 different flavours of plant ice cream! IKEA is a great place for hungry vegans who are new to Tokyo. However, the food starts to sell out in the evenings so don’t arrive too late.

Pros: Easy to find, quick service, tasty chicken nuggets

Cheap chicken kaarage

It was more like chicken nuggets, but it was pretty good. It was only 200 yen for 4 pieces.

Be careful of items that look vegan. They are not.

Not all items are vegan at the bistro.
I see people uploading pics of non-vegan items.

***Non-vegan items that might appear vegan:***

Veggie wraps: None of the veggie wraps are vegan, they are vegetarian because they contain dairy.

Veggie balls boxes: allthough the veggie balls are vegan, the mash potato, gravy and cranberry sauce are not.

Veggie hot dogs: Buns and dressing are milk based. Only the actually veggie hot dog is vegan.

Mashed potatoes: is milk based

Vegan items at the this bistro:
-Plant based "chicken" salad
-Lasagna
-Plant based curry
-Plant based whole pizza
-Soft serve (labelled plant based)
-Plant balls (bought on their own)
-Veggie balls (bought on their own)
-Green salad
-European style breads
