Mangelhafte Kennzeichnung - Edit
Achtung! Vegetarisch und vegan sind hier teilweise mit gleicher Kennzeichnung. Im Zutaten-computer gibt es leider keinen "vegan"-Filter und wenn man ei-frei, etc eingibt, so erscheinen trotzdem noch Omelette und Co. Das ist also super ätzend!
Read moreWenn man dann einmal die wenigen, wirklich veganen Optionen gefunden hat, kann man hier sogar preiswerter als die Fleischgerichte essen. Das ist ein großartiges Konzept :)

Quick meal - Edit
First of all: the vegan meatballs("Plantbullar") taste great. Unfortunately, the displayed dish that includes them isn't vegan because of the mashed potatoes and sauce (both include milk/cream). However, the chef behind the counter was happy to veganize the menu with fries and red cabbage. Just ask.

At the exit by the cash registers is a snack store with vegan hot dogs and strawberry soft ice cream for 1€ each. A pleasant and rare sight: the respective omnivorous counterparts are more expensive (e.g. meat hot dog 1.50€). You can also by bulk frozen Plantbullars or the hot dog sausages there for home cooking.
Some room for improvement: In other IKEAs, the selection of vegan food is much larger. I hope that this will gradually be the case in all stores. Furthermore, here in Hanau nothing is officially marked vegan yet. There is only a leaf icon that stands for "vegetarian".
