Not a good option for vegans - Edit
The fries are good, but this is not a vegan friendly restaurant. Their menu is poorly labeled making it look like they have more vegan options than they do. They have multiple appetizers that are vegetarian, but then they have a big V next to their cauliflower bites even though they contain buttermilk and are not vegan. And some of their staff aren’t aware what is vegan and what isn’t, as we had one staff member try to assure us things were vegan that we had been told aren’t. Plenty of other options in this area, so best to avoid this place.

**Barely** Vegan Friendly - Edit
If you’re vegan, expect only French fries or a basic salad. All batters contain dairy (so no fried pickles, no cauliflower bites, no onion rings), burger buns (brioche) contain dairy, and lots of bacon and cheese options on the burgers to make them cost $20

An Option - Edit
Good atmosphere and I did enjoy the taste of the vegan burger. The waitress asked if I wanted it fully vegan and I said yes. She explained that meant no cheese.😒There was a dressing or mayo on it (not 1000 island like the description said), and I normally would have questioned it. However, the waitress wasn’t around and didn’t come check on me, so I just ate it since she had told me the burger would be fully vegan. My stomach did make quite a few unusual noises later, so I would definitely ask next time.

Good food, limited options - Edit
Came here wanting to order the cream of mushroom soup (they were out) and the cauliflower wings (no longer on the menu). Ended up having the avocado ponzu salad, which was great, and the Brussels sprouts, which were nice but too much altogether.
Read moreSurcharges for the burger swaps are unfortunate, especially without (vegan) cheese.
Pros: Good food, Friendly, helpful staff
Cons: Limited options, Hefty surcharge for swaps

Good spot - Edit
I mostly came here to have a beer and somehow accidentally picked the most expensive sour I've ever had 😂 besides that I had a bowl of the vegan cream of mushroom soup which I have not really seen done before, and it was delicious!! One of the salads also sounded delightful but I didn't try it. Nice to have some interesting options at a brewery instead of the usual sad fare.

More than just a brewpub - Edit
I usually don't expect much from brewery food, but this place serves food with the quality of a fine restaurant. Over two visits I tried the avocado ponzu salad, the seasonal spring salad (without the goat cheese), the cream of mushroom soup, and the brussel sprouts. Everything was phenomenal. The staff was very knowledgeable about vegan options. Sad to see some reviewers had a negative experience but it seems like they have made a lot of improvements since those reviews.

Cons: Vegan options could be better labeled on menu

Meat in chili. Yikes - Edit
We ordered VEGAN chili and were reassured by two waitresses that it’s vegan with beyond meat. Upon arriving home and starting to eat it- we fished out several chunks of meat, that had clearly meat fiber and structure, nothing like beyond (we eat beyond all the time). Stay away, unless you’re ok eating the occasional piece of meat in your dish.

Good vegan options in Idylwild, but.... - Edit
Was happy to try this place as it can be hard to find good vegan options in small towns like this. The menu includes a Beyond Burger with vegan cheese which is great, but they charge $3 extra than the regular meat burger. We ordered 3 in our group reluctantly paying the $3 vegan surcharge figuring the vegan cheese was a nice touch. When the burgers came they didn't include cheeze. The waitress said they no longer offer vegan cheeze even though it's on the menu as if it's included. I asked if they could take a buck off the burgers- she checked with the manager Ryan and he said no. They also offer a Beyond Brat (with a $2 vegan surcharge) and a vegan chili. For an appetizer they offer Buffalo or BBQ Cauliflower which is vegan, but there was hardly any sauce on them, so we asked for a side and it was good. They just drip some sauce on them, they aren't tossed. Overall, a nice option in a small town. The outside deck is nice but when we went it was packed and had to wait an hour for a table.

Good Chili - Edit
I loved the vegan chili, it was perfect for a cold day. I also loved that the restaurant was dog friendly.

Fried and Delicious! - Edit
Ordered: Buffalo Cauliflower and French fries.
Read moreUpon arrival we had a very short wait before the staff showed us to our table, they were very friendly and three different people asked us if we had been helped yet. We sat in their outdoor patio section which was a nice atmosphere overlooking some of the trees of Idyllwild. We ordered our food and it felt like it came out immediately. Not everyone does fried food well but Idyllwild Brew Pub knows what they’re doing. The French Fries had a beautiful crunch, and for those that follow me, you know that fried potatoes are one of my favorites and texture is important to me, these fries were on point! The Buffalo Cauliflower also had their texture done perfectly, it was tender, crunchy and crispy. Just enough Buffalo sauce on the cauliflower to give it a nice kick and I’m pretty sure they used a bit of malt vinegar which took the flavor to another level that I was not expecting, really delicious. The Vegan Malt Vinaigrette dipping sauce was the touch on the top and I also used it for dipping the fries. I’m writing this review from my backyard the next day and my friend who came to eat with me is trying to convince me to go back today (I don’t live in Idyllwild, I’m like an hour away to give you some reference of the draw this food has on us). This is also the food we had after a long hike, so it also had the benefit of having the added ingredient of hunger. That being said, if you’re in the area definitely check it out.
Pros: Great Fried Food, Friendly Staff, Quick Service
