So awesome!

It sounds like their menu changes quite often and I didn’t see the vegan tempeh sandwich on their website so I shot them an email. I kid you not, they replied in less than 90 seconds and told me they currently are out of tempeh but would whip me up something similar with a sweet potato purée. Omgggg it was sooooo good. Such a cute little shop and clearly very nice and flexible to all folks. The bookstore a block over will let you sit and eat your sandwich since the deli doesn’t have indoor seating. Highly recommend!

Pros: Willing to make you something vegan on the fly, House made bread, Get the house made chips. You won’t regret it

Cons: No indoor seating it weather is bad

Amazing bread and vegan special

The tempeh sandwich is delicious and an excellent addition to vegan food in Durham. I’m excited to see more vegan options from Ideal’s in the future!
