Simple and tasty buy maybe overvalued

It Is a very touristic and beautiful Place in the center of Palermo, where most likely you'll have to queue to get in. They don't have many options but the ones they have are nice.

Simple and tasty

Even with the big line, the sweet and granita were very satisfying (also with the possibility to eat in the garden). We arrived kind of late (17h), and they have only the almond sweet as vegan option available.

Mostly marzipan

It makes sense, that their baked goods are naturally vegan since it's just marzipan painted, but it still is a cool spot to check out, I liked the pistacchio marzipan a lot more than the regular ones. Don't take too many though it's very sweet.

A traditional place

The dolceria is hidden inside the Santa Caterina monastery. They cook sweets following ancient and traditional recipes of the nuns.
Most of sweets are only vegetarian but there are also some vegan options (all ingredients are available on their website): traditional sicilian granita and almond/pistachios-based sweets, that are something typical in this region. They are not many, but visiting the monastery is a typical touristic experience in Palermo.
Moreover you can enjoy your coffee and sweets in the beautiful cloister.
I had some "sospiri" (almond paste flavoured with orange, lemon, pistachio and coffee) and some "trifi" (covered with pistachios and chocolate).

Pros: Ancient and traditional sweets, Beautiful location

Cons: Since it's traditional, not many vegan options
