Excellent vegan home-made Caribbean food truck - Edit
Located between the St Thomas airport and the Red Hook ferry dock (to catch boats to nearby islands including St John), this is THE stop we love to make while driving from airport to ferry. It's a chill hang-out for locals, not in a fancy area, and you will undoubtedly be the only one there who isn't a local. It's not in a particularly scenic area, but focus is on the food and the local culture which is wonderful. Be careful or you will drive right by it unless you are looking closely.
Read moreThis food truck serves hearty, clean, tasty food, and stopping here has become an annual destination for us when we travel. We order a "large plate" and ask for everything good to be put on it (e.g. rice, beans, a pasta dish, a tofu dish, a vegetable dish, and usually two different kinds of fried patties). We also ask for a batch of the fried patties on the side (usually cauliflower and something that seems like lentil). Fun non-alcoholic beverages including "peanut" and hibiscus. Owned and operated by a very friendly guy.
This is "the islands," so no hurries and no worries. Only stop here if you are not in a rush as you might wait for your food for a few minutes.
