Traditional fine-dining restaurant with vegan options

This place has a Michelin star for high quality cooking. I found most of the food very good, yes, but not "wow". The two others in the group were more excited.

I had contacted the restaurant after the reservation to ensure that we get the "vegan menu", and this had been confirmed. However, when we arrived, the kitchen told us (via our waiter) that in the online reservation system I had selected "à la carte" (as there was no vegan option), and therefore we could only order the (more limited) vegan options from the menu and not get the vegan tasting menu. (Of which the dessert was veganized by omitting the animal products, so not very impressive.) This was disappointing, especially as it was weekdays and the restaurant was not even half full. Otherwise the service at the table was good and the atmosphere was relaxed.

In the confirmation e-mail there was a specific point on the dress code that "sportswear clothing and shoes" were not allowed, so I packed a bit more of an upscale outfit for our short visit in Athens than I would have otherwise. But then they guy at the table next to us had white sneakers, crew socks and a garish shirt (not sure it impressed his young companion, but that's irrelevant)... So I felt a bit stupid to have paid attention to their e-mail. Either there is a dress code or not...

Perhaps not the first place I would return to when in Athens, but during a longer stay I'd probably give it another try (then making sure I select another option in the reservation system and get a double clarification in the e-mail follow up...)

Top food. Disappointing service

As expected the food was delicious, modernised Greek flavours.
Outdoor seating and a panoramic view of the Acropolis.
Wine served was inexpensive, but reflective of the cost of the wine pairing. Cocktails were fabulous.

When we visited the service was lacking.

Comparatively it is not an expensive expensive Michelin restaurant but is expensive for Athens.

Pros: Food was high quality and delicious , View of the Acropolis and a beautiful setting , Adaptable menu to suit vegans

Cons: Service was lacking , Wine pairing could be improved
