Delicious soup - Edit
Really delicious soup. Avo on toast was yummy too. As were the olives. Staff were lovely.

Post-soak lunch - Edit
Enjoyed a dip in the hot springs, then popped into the on-site cafe for lunch. It was really cold and windy outside, so soup seemed like the perfect choice. It’s got thai flavourings, and staff pour the soup from a jug at the table over some fresh greens in the bowl. It seems to be the same soup for the non-vegan option (except it comes with seafood). The man next to me asked me what mine was because it looked better than his non-vegan one! It comes with bread and an amazing date pesto (instead of butter). I could have eaten the pesto with a spoon! My partner got the vegan open sandwich, which came with the same yummy pesto, sundried tomatoes and nuts. One of the best meals I had in Iceland; don’t miss eating here if you visit the hot springs.

Beautiful hot springs - Edit
The hot springs itself is simply lovely. They've done a great job of naturalizing the springs so it blends into the natural environment. Outstanding job of minimizing the environmental impact. They have music playing outside - I think better would be to relax in nature but it's ok. I just walked in prepared to wait and was able to get in the springs straight away which was great.
Read moreThe restaurant is ok. Five dollars for the worlds smallest wellness shot haha. Staff and service were just ok. Vegan options are few but the menu is also small. No indication on the menu whether local ingredients are used.
Pro tip: try Krauma- an even lesser known hot springs about 40 minutes north of here. They have more vegan options and they take particular care to use only local ingredients.

Nice lunch next to hot springs - Edit
We were surprised and pleased to discover this restaurant had vegan options as we had resigned ourselves to eating Clif bars in the car after our visit to the lovely hot springs. There aren’t many vegan options, but they are clearly labeled and the staff understands what needs to be adjusted to make each dish vegan.

Cons: A lot of date pesto- more variety would be nice, Would have been nice to have avocado on sandwich
