Ok - Edit
First of all, major kudos for offering a dedicated and extensive vegan menu in addition to your regular menu. There were so many items that I wanted to try, but my tummy wasn't big enough for all the vegan things... Next time. My family was staying at the Mandalay, so it was honestly veggie luck that Hussong's was just a few steps from our room.
Read moreOn the first visit, I got the Fish Baja Tacos. The tacos were good, but it appeared that the Gardein fishless filets were 1/2 the normal size; I may have gotten 1 or 2 bites of the filet. It was basically a cabbage taco. Also, I tasted, and subsequently saw, vegan cheese inside my tacos. I do not like cheese; vegan or otherwise. The menu does not list cheese in the description, so that was perturbing. (Side note: it is not listed in the menu description, but this dish also comes with beans and rice.)
On the second visit, I got the Chile Relleno with the Gardein Chick'n strips. This dish is supposed to come with mixed garlic, onions, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes, then topped with Daiya (vegan cheese) shreds and avocado, served over a tostado with beans and rice. I requested no tomatoes or cheese. What did I get? Well, I got the open poblano pepper with "chicken" strips, tomatoes, avocado slices, a mystery sauce drizzled atop, and the tostado, which was surrounded by a mole sauce. The garlic, onions, carrots, and potatoes were no where to be found. This is a $17 dish. I am going to need them to not omit 1/2 of the ingredients. I picked out the tomatoes and the remaining dish was good, but I wanted the rest of that darn filling!
The beans & rice, however, were excellent. They were among some of the best and most flavorful vegan rice and beans I have ever had.
I'd love to give some of the other menu items a try, like that Habanero Guacamole dish, and the Sopes. But the kitchen needs to make sure they know what does and does not go in their dishes, and/or update the menu descriptions accordingly.
They were open from 11am-11pm. Carry out orders need to placed at the bar, or you may call ahead. Hussong's Cantina is located in the Shoppes area. If you're at Mandalay Bay, simply follow the signs for the Shoppes. It's just a short walk after you've exited the escalators. If you reach Lush, you've gone too far.

Great Vegan Menu - Edit
We came across this restaurant at lunchtime whilst exploring Manderlay Hotel. I spotted the vegan menu & we were lucky to have a walk up.
Read moreI chose the jackfruit fajitas, lots of delicious toppings. Jackfruit was a bit dry & it looked a bit too meaty for me but the fajitas were good, the spicy rice & refried beans were very good. Husband had vegan quesadillas which he enjoyed.
It was busy as it was President’s Day but we got a table & service was good.
Quirky decor, and our server was friendly. Would recommend.
Pros: Extensive vegan menu, Great atmosphere , Reasonably priced

Lots of vegan options - Edit
Got the vegan chimicanga, it was good but a little greasy for my taste. But I would have liked to try more on the menu. I didn't like the mariachi band, asking for tips, playing pop songs at your table but your milage may vary on that entertainment.

I ordered the vegan burrito, mixed veggies instead of veg protein options, and smothered in a verde sauce. I got a fun margarita to sip and the two salsa options given with chips are also delish!

GREAT VEGAN MENU - Edit
Be sure to ask for the VEGAN menu as it's not readily on display or advertised.
Read moreSuch a huge selection of vegan foods from tacos to burritos and chimichangas, not to mention vegan desserts and drinks. The service was also amazing. The Baja "fish" tacos were out of this world
Pros: Lots of vegan options
Cons: A little expensive but most things in Vegas are.

Fantastic Find in Mandalay Bay - Edit
Fantastic find inside the Mandalay Bay Resort! They have a wonderful page of vegan selections on their menu! We shared their classic Vegan guacamole, vegan fajitas (with vegan sour cream & Daiya Cheese) and their amazing vegan chocolate cake with a peanut butter frosting and sweet tomatillo sauce! Top this off with great service and you have a place that we will return to as often as we can!

So glad I found this place on here! They had a whole page of vegan menu items with mock meats, cheese and sour cream!
Read moreThey also have a happy hour from 3-6pm everyday which has $6 margaritas.
When you first sit down they give you a huge bowl of warm corn chips and salsa. I ordered the fish tacos, only chicken and beef were listed but the server mentioned they have fish too. It was delicious!
There’s also a vegan dessert but I didn’t try it.

Awesome vegan and gluten free options! - Edit
What a gem I found while staying at the Mandalay Bay! It’s in The Shoppes area, easy walking distance from multiple hotels. This place had an abundant vegan menu and is a perfect place to accommodate a mix of carnivores and vegan eaters. I absolutely loved the smoky chipotle salsa...it was truly unlike anything else I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The chips were fresh and delicious and I got to have my first Chile Relleno since going vegan. I don’t eat mock meats and they were very accommodating with substituting fajita vegetables. Was quite a surprising find and treat!

I went here with a large group, and they were very accommodating. Everyone - vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters, loved their food at Hussong's. Their guacamole is particularly good, but I enjoyed everything here quite a lot. The atmosphere is a festive, bar atmosphere.

Was pleasantly surprised that they had a full vegan menu. Whole back page of the menu was vegan and they had vegan happy hour choices. Many of the items used Gardein as the meat - but they added their own sauces. Ate there a few times during my stay. Portions are very big.

Amazing experience - Edit
The vegan menu at Hussong’s Cantina is amazing, they have many options and the flavor of the food is truly Mexican. Loved this experience. Went in January and they had an amazing 3-course socios for VeGanuary. Appetizer, entree, and dessert for 21 UsD, can’t beat that price on the strip.
Read moreService here also amazing, my friend had a sore throat and without asking the waiter (Oliver) brought her hot water with lemon to ease it a bit. Totally recommended.

Read moreMenu was great because
Most Mexican places are easy for vegans (beans veggies etc) but then I saw the vegan menu on the last page and was THRILLED. I told the waitress I was so thankful for that menu and I had plenty of options I would have tried them all if I could fit. Such fast and wonderful service. Live music and cool restaurant decor!!!! Great food and so full afterwards of all plant based foods
Pros: many veg options, fast service , fun atmosphere

great service, disappointing food - Edit
First of all, I have to say the service here is great. The waitresses were all super helpful, attentive and friendly.
Read moreThe food however is a different story. The nachos and salsa given to start were impeccable, however we ordered some guacamole too and were surprised to see it arrived with fried pig skins, even though it didn't specify this on the menu. One of our party even ate a couple, as they looked more like puffed corn tortilla chips than pork scratching. It was a horrible shock for all involved- thank god our waitress told us when she came to take our main order.
The main courses were okay. Very middling. A nice salad, and happy hour options served with mains. The vegan cheese replacement they're using tastes particularly plasticky, and the whole fake meat fake cheese sitting in a tortilla just didn't seem like a good vegan meal. Given the quality of their salsas and nachos, we're sure the restaurant could do so much better.
Pros: service, portions, espérate menu

Lots of Vegan Options ON the Strip! - Edit
I love this place! The chimichanga is awesome!! The whole back page of the menu is Vegan - easily the most robust vegan mexican menu I've encountered. It's a little pricey for what you get because it's on the strip, but I'm super grateful for an on the strip option where I can meet my omni friends and not feel like I'm limited in my choices!
Read moreNote - the Boca Park location is more convenient to me but has a much smaller vegan menu. I really wish they would mirror the Mandalay Bay location, as I would eat there more often.
Pros: On the strip!, Free Valet @ the Shoppes
