Sneakily charged extra for vegan when not reasonable!! - Edit
It’s good that they have vegan options that include swapping ingredients rather than just removing them. But after eating there twice I’ve figured out what they do - they sneakily charge you $2 for having the vegan option (which is not stated anywhere on the menu or in the venue!) which I would understand if they added something like their own vegan sauce/cheese but changing eggs to tofu and then adding $2 without saying anything is taking advantage of us people with dietary requirements!!
Read moreWill not be going back purely out of principle there’s plenty of vegan friendly places that would never do that
Pros: For vegan opt they swap items instead of removing
Cons: Sneaky vegan charge to meals , No info about charge on menu or in the venue , Some meals quite small and not filling

Friendly staff, range of options - Edit
Friendly and attentive staff. Range of items on the menu are labeled as having vegan options available. I tried the tofu scramble which was generous with a good amount of chilli - but possibly a little strong with the turmeric. Also had a berry smoothie which was average.

Nice Cafe - Edit
Dropped in for breakfast and ordered the Chilli Vegan Scrambled, well cooked with just the right amount of chilli. Definitely worth a second visit

Charged more for vegan variation without notice - Edit
We were in Heidelberg around lunch time so came here. We saw a couple of vegan options, asked about them and ended up ordering the vegan chilli scramble (tofu replaces egg, feta removed) and the vegan smashed avo (falafel replaces prosciutto and egg). The scramble was OK, with a moderate chilli bite, but not stunningly tasty in the absence of feta. The smashed avo was fine, and the falafels made it more substantial, but it was spoilt by ten tons of relish. I generally hate chutney and relish but even my companion thought it was too much. What irked me though, was that, when we paid, the total was $4-$5 more than I expected, and it was explained that this was because of the modification. I understand tofu costs more than eggs in the scramble, but feta was left out and prosciutto and egg replaced by falafel in the other dish. The chef advised me the additional cost was noted on the menu, but neither my companion nor I remember seeing this and I can find no evidence on the online menu (which admittedly varies from the one in the cafe).
