Limited options

You won't go hungry but don't expect lots to choose from.

The 2 meals for £12 deal is good value and what we did order was tasty.

Pros: Mushroom & ale pie, Value

Cons: Need more choice

Nice pub

Decent variety of options, although besides chickpea curry they’re all “veganised” versions of pub classics. Plant-based Fish and Chips was good. And they had two pudding options! (chocolate torte and apple crumble).

From a non-food standpoint, it’s a Wacky Warehouse with dedicated family and “over 18 only” areas

Pros: Selection , Variety, Atmosphere

Cons: Pub chain food (don’t expect gourmet)

Chain pub/restaurant with several vegan choices

Two of us attended at lunch time on a Wednesday in March 2023 after a visit to Pinderfields Hospital which is nearby.

The pub is located next to the canal and a marina which houses boats.

You find a table and choose your food from the table menu, then order at the bar. There were several vegan choices, which were clearly marked on the menu.

I ordered a vegan mushroom and ale pie, which was served with chips, peas and gravy. My order was taken proficiently and without any fuss. It arrived quickly and was very tasty and since it was part of a “two meals for £11.49” deal was very good value.

The pub is part of the Hungry Horse stable ;-)

This was a good place to eat with an older relative as we could both eat what we wanted. The food is standard pub food and although I know that there are places to eat with better quality vegan food, this scores 4*

I score 4* not because it’s in a delightful location or serves gourmet food but because it is a regular restaurant which provides several vegan options and these were offered and served without any comment or fuss over my choice to live vegan.

Pros: Several vegan options on the regular menu, Easy to find a table , Value for money
