I had the mock general Tso’s chicken. I really enjoyed it! But a heads up to people with texture issues: the mock chicken is not “chicken like” it’s more of a crunchy tofu skin texture. Really good. Perfectly cooked broccoli too! It smelled so good I forgot to get a picture

I used to LOVE this place! Ate there once a week! Great vegan/vegetarian options! ....then the quality went out the door. Down right terrible food the last time I went! The food was not edible.

Hunan Village pretty good Chinese food with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options - Edit
Hunan Village has a large menu of both meat and veg dishes. I ordered the Vegetarian General Tso's, a crispy soy protein (reminded me of tofu skins) with a sweet and slightly spicy sauce (VD2 on the menu). I ordered it to-go and the portion was huge...it was delicious, but dare I say a little heavy handed on the sauce and maybe too sweet. Pretty good option outside of Chinatown.

Great variety of mock meats in a non-veg restauran - Edit
I had the pleasure of revisiting Hunan Village last week. I made the trip into Houston to visit Pepper Tree, but they were closed. I had this incredible craving for mock beef and knew that Hunan Village had it. I was not disappointed. I had the vegetarian Hot and Sour soup and vegetarian beef with broccoli. It was very tasty and I was so happy that I visited them. The place had a fair amount of people there - all seemingly happy with their meals. Please do not be put off by a bad review - it's worth a visit. Many veg options, even on their lunch specials.

LOVE IT!! - Edit
Hunan Village is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston! They have an extensive vegetarian menu with Wonton Soup ( which any veggie will tell you is near impossible to find veg) and tasty entrees. I recommend the Veggie General Tsao's Chicken. It is sooo good!!
