Hummus - Edit

Välj Hummus. Allt annat innehåller koriander och det är inget i min smak.
Mycket god hummus och rejält med pita. Man blir mätt. Små drickor dock 0,2 dl både på flaska och iste.

Pros: Hummus Hummus Hummus

Cons: Hög ljudnivå, Små drickor

Cosy atmosphere, great food... - Edit fact, the only negative I think of to say about this place is that it is not fully vegan. Luckily though, the staff are more than happy to help vegans with the menu and are certainly knowledgeable about what vegan means. They are very friendly too, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming as is the décor; the brick walls contrast with modern features really well.

The breakfasts are heavy on eggs, but later in the day vegans are well catered for with generous portions of hummus with pita and salad - I had this with aubergine and an extra dip of tahini, and was full, and it was clear that the food was fresh. I didn't try it, but was also told that the cous cous with beef can be prepared as vegan, with baked aubergine. There's also a selection of drinks, including alcohol, and some really interesting flavours of juice, such as date and pomegranate.

For a juice, hummus and dip I paid 17 Euro, which is mid-range for Amsterdam, and based on the quality, portion size and service, I would say this is good value.

Pros: friendly staff, good portion sizes

Cons: not fully veg

Possibly the Best Hummus in Town - Edit

Lovely independent & authentic hummus bistro in beautiful Jordaan. Hugely vegetarian and vegan friendly. Very busy at peak times. You can order a hummus plate of your choice (egg plant for me always a winner) a plate of falafel with tahini and then make your own sandwiches with the pitta breads and pickles that accompany the food. Hummus plates are around €8-9 and falafel with tahini €7 for 5 pieces. Wine is fairly priced for Amsterdam at around €18 a bottle. The interior is rustic and friendly with plenty of seating and an open kitchen at the back. Definitely the best hummus I've had in The Dam. Years ago you had no choice but to go to Maoz for a hummus and falafel fix but now things are moving forward for the better.

Pros: great hummus , location, friendly

Cons: some meat served , Gets very busy
