Super affordable hummus place, really crispy flavourful falafel, nicely seasoned salads and creamy hummus. My only regret is not ordering a dish with more falafels. Most dishes are around £6 so super pocket friendly!

Die Hummusbar wirbt groß mit ihren veganen Angeboten, hat allerdings leider dann doch viele Gerichte mit Milch- und/oder Fleischprodukten. Die Bedienung war aber schnell und die Hummus Pita war lecker und günstig. Mir persönlich hat ein bisschen die frische gefehlt und der Tahingeschmack war mir etwas zu dominant.

Multiple vegan options to choose from (hummus bowls, pita sandwiches, soups) and the food was delicious and nicely seasoned. The place smelled like deep fried food and the smell leeches on to clothes after leaving the place too. Would not recommend to sit down if smells like this bother you; maybe it’s better for pick up.

I was starving so I went to get a falafel pita to go. It was tasty, had a lot of falafels and good hummus.
Read moreI think the place is good for takeaway, but I wouldn't sit their to enjoy a meal. For my taste it's too much of a chain and seemed like a busy place.
It's clearly marked what's vegan og vegetarian, so that's very trustworthy and helpful.

It it very cheap (I think it should be shown as a one dollar place). The vegan meals are clearly stated in the menu, the staff is nice. Sometimes they get confused which language they should speak 😄

This is an amazing place with friendly staff and a decent selection of vegan options. The bread (laffa) was utterly brilliant. Thez have a variety of options, and some of the best are the zataar, and onion stuffed laffas.

I'm vegan and I asked for a vegetarian shakshuka without the eggs, they proposed to add extra toppings to it when I asked. I also had the hummus complete plate which I highly recommend and the couscous soup (both vegan)

Everything I had was super tasty and the staff is very sweet and will adapt the meals to veganize them!

Lovely franchise with lots of options to combine - recommended for hummus lovers - Edit
I really like the franchise, and have already eaten at their various restaurants countless times in the past - however, I haven't yet tried this one until August 2020. I was not disappointed, the food was as good as it usually is at their other locations. I ordered my usual favourite: hummus with mushroom, the hummus was creamy, juicy and savoury, and the whole mushroom heads were roasted to a chewiness that is just right. The hummus plates are big and filling - one plate with 2 pita breads is usually too much for me, I can only eat 1 pita bread before I get full.
Read moreThe location of the restaurant is great - it is close to the Great Synagogue, as well as to the "Party District". I have already recommended this place to friends visiting from abroad, and they weren't disappointed either :)
What I also really liked in this location is that (probably due to the ceiling height and the open doors during our visit) there was no smell of cooking in the restaurant - or in my hair after we visited (this is something I often notice in other restaurants of the franchise, in the ones that are smaller or have a shorter ceiling height). I'll be coming back!

Lovely vegan lunch - Edit
Loads of vegan choices all centred around houmous of course! All vegan items are helpfully labelled with a blue icon on the menu. They have pitta breads, salads, falafels and soups, all super reasonable priced and incredibly delicious! I had the “falafel and salad” from the “our houmous” section, with a side Tabuleh side salad, it was amazing!! Lovely staff too :)

The Hummus Bar chain is an easy option in Budapest if you would like to grab a Middle Eastern bite, even with your meat-eater friends. This restaurant is well-located, it's in the touristic area of the 7th district.
