Yummy Hummy - Edit
With several locations, a place to get delicious vegan food in the midst of nice atmosphere. A bit pricey to visit frequently; great for special occasions.

Quite dry food - Edit
Feel bad giving this place 2 stars as the staff were lovely and the design / feel of the place was great but the food was just really dry and strange flavour combos. It was also quite expensive - the most we’ve spent on a meal so far.
Read moreHad tempura veg to start which was nice (except the fried mint leaves). For main had:
1) pad Thai without eggs which was dry and tasteless and had an overkill on raw bean sprouts
2) brown rice in lotus leaf - again very dry but it was recommended I had a soup with it which I wish u had done for some liquid.
For drinks had a Heineken and an apricot wine (which was a bit like rice wine and probably an acquired taste).
Due to all the previous positive reviews I think we just probably chose the wrong dishes...
Pros: Lots of vegan options (more than those marked 🌱), Nice designed space , Friendly helpful staff
Cons: Expensive , Dry food, Fruit wine.... was interesting! 🤔

Love Hum - Edit
The food is always consistently delicious, the square cake is the best of an amazing menu, using all the parts put on the plate to construct the right blend of flavours is fun and the best thing about Vietnamese food. We always enjoy the various rolls. The mustard leaf one is spicy and unique.
Read moreThe green curry is smooth and tasty and the homemade fried tofu are golden medallions of silky goodness.
The seating can be a little crammed it is best to reserve well in advance if bigger than a party of 2, the stairs sometimes make it a challenge for the staff to go up and down a lot.
Pros: Almost all vegan, Staff always ask if you can take egg or alliums , Delicious and inventive
Cons: Sometimes a little crammed at this location

Awesome - Edit
I have been to all 3 of the Hum restaurants and I have never been disappointed. The food is always beautifully presented, delicately balanced whilst being wholesome and flavoursome. However, they will serve a curry 10 mins before the rice and try and remove the cover. If you’re not quick then you’ll have a cold curry by the time the rice arrives.
Read morePros: Lots of vegan options, Great diversity soups, salads, rice, stir fry etc, Great detox drinks
Cons: Vegan in Vietnamese means no egg, garlic, Onion, A little pricey if you’re on a budget, Service is a bit fragmented

Pretty good & can cater to gluten free - Edit
This place was quite yummy with a delightful variety of vegan eats. Is it the best vegan food I’ve had in Vietnam? No, but it still was good. The staff had good grasp on English so could be sure about what I could and could not order regarding gluten free (I’m Celiac).
Read moreOn the food - in my experience the smaller hole in the wall places are tastier. Got the braised tofu and papaya salad. Both yum but not mind blowing flavour. Nice to dine in a fancy atmosphere but in my 3 weeks in Vietnam so far I’ve had much better food at cheaper places. Wouldn’t say it’s essential.
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Fine dining experience, Nice presentation
Cons: Expensive , Not as flavourful as you’d expect

Lovely Restaurant - Edit
Menu was clearly marked. Decided to get food because my friend was stressed and could not have made a better choice. Extremely tranquil setting. Staff were attentive and friendly. Have had better food at lower prices in Vietnam but it was a lovely bit of time out in a peaceful environment and with peace of mind about the menu.

Wonderful peaceful haven - Edit
Hum is a lovely, calm vegetarian haven in the busy Ho Chi Minh City. The service is excellent, staff are very friendly and welcoming and food is fantastic!
Read moreThe separate drinks and food menus are extensive, with lots of yummy sounding options.
Pricing is slightly higher than what I’m used to paying in Vietnam but a three course meal with drink was under £15.
I had initially turned up for lunch without a booking and there was no availability so I’d booked for the evening. I’d recommend booking ahead to make sure you can get a table :-)
Pros: Friendly staff, Extensive menu
Cons: Slightly pricey in comparison to Vietnam averages

Best meal in Vietnam! - Edit
Hum is outstanding! The price is the most I paid in Vietnam but it’s worth it because the food has more flavor than any other restaurant I visited in my 5 weeks here. Also, the service is also by far the best I have had in Vietnam. True western style service. Everything is prepared vegan unless it has a leaf next to the item, but those can be prepared vegan as well. I highly recommend Hum to anyone visiting Saigon! Make a reservation! This place fills up.

Keep it local and simple - Edit
Very good food, served smashingly decorated. Beatiful restaurant with outside and inside seating. A few remarks though. In the description of every dish the nutritional values and benefits of the ingredients are mentioned, this is overdoing it. Furthermore the staff has an overwestern approach to hospitality: we were asked at least 7 times if everything was OK and where we were from and if we liked Vietnam. Last, but in a place that advertises itself as eco conscious, not last, serving Frech Evian water as your housewater in plastic bottles is weird. Our advice: keep it local and avoid plastic.

Explosion on your taste buds - Edit
The dishes are very tasty, the chef uses all kinds of spices. Very courteos staff. Most dishes are either vegan or can be ordered in a vegan version. The prices are a little bit higher than in other restaurants, but the food is totally worth it.

Wow! - Edit
Although the service was a bit lackluster (perhaps because i was dining alone) the food made up for it. It was amazingly good. I had the lotus chips, banana leaf salad, and the mushroom curry in the coconut. Everything was incredibly good.

Beautiful setting with tasty food - Edit
This restaurant has a very beautiful interior. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food is interesting.
Read moreIf you are vegan, this is how the menu works....
• Everything is vegetarian
• Things marked with the vegan green symbol says on the menu that it means ‘vegan option available’ but from what I gathered from the waitress things with this symbol follow the Jain diet (vegan but also no onion or garlic)
• Basically I looked at everything on the menu, chose something I guessed would be vegan, then checked with the waitress to make sure it definitely was. They cook from fresh so recipes can also be altered for you if you ask.

Fine dining vegetarian - Edit
Impeccable service, high quality food but expensive and small portions.
Read moreThe ambience is relaxing as well, there is a little pond at the front with water features.
The fried tofu was good - the texture was similar to mozzarella sticks and whatever the sauce was that they served with them was a showstopper. I just wish they had provided more because I would've eaten it like soup.
I had the taro lemongrass stew with brown rice. A delicious flavour that I would have never thought of myself (I love eating at restaurants that serve food I wouldn't be able to create on my own). The portion was not too large and not to small.
What really makes this restaurant great is the service. From the time I sat down the waiter was able to recommend several vegan options. The server who attended me made sure I was enjoying everything and my food was served promptly.
You can pay by card.

strongly recommended! - Edit
Amazingly tasty vegetarian food and beautiful peaceful restaurant setting. The English service, and clear passion for healthy eating was evident. The menu is a work of art, as is the surroundings both inside and outside in the garden. This is by far the best Asian vegetarian food tasted in several trips to Vietnam and Asia.

Really lovely restaurant. However, the menu was rather disappointing. The menu was extensive, but basically all drinks and deserts included milk or yogourt, and appetizers and mains eggs. Wouldn't really go again as the food was nothing special.

Fancy but a tad disappointing - Edit
The setting is quite nice though the lightning is poorly planned. Portions are expensive but small. Menu is extensive however they have confused veganism with Buddhism so items marked vegan can contain milk, eggs and honey but they aid using onion and garlic.

I actually had a going away dinner here. The ambiance looks better in the pictures. The food was good but I'd hope for more vegan options. It wasn't all that though. I think they could of done better. More hyped up... was trying to convert some people to veg didn't seem to work so well :( but it is what it is kind of thing. Cool cocktails.

Great Upmarket Veggie Restaurant - Edit
I’ve never seen such a big menu; it had its own contents page! As someone not overly familiar with Vietnamese food, I felt that it would have been better to have less choice or some set menu recommendations. The cocktails were great and the food was well presented and tasty. It’s expensive for HCMC, but at £15 for several dishes and a cocktail it’s well worth the money for this upmarket restaurant.
Read morePros: Tasty food, Good atmosphere, Plenty (maybe too much!) of choice
Cons: The size of the menu can be overwhelming!
