Hullabaloo, Dumfries - Edit
==Typo corrected==
To start with despite it's charms Dumfries isn't the biggest place. Thus the size of the vegetarian market is pretty limited. I don't live in Dumfries any more so others may be better informed. In my experience Hullabaloo while no means exclusively all vego, it makes a pretty stab at catering for the veg*an eater.
Key to this is that they have a printed all vegan menu. There's around 7 or 8 starters and main dishes. I've eaten there a few times and enjoyed the food on every occasion. I've also eaten there with omnivores who have similarly enjoyed the food they have had.
It's in a old building on the banks of the River Nith with pretty nice views out the windows (try to get a window seat).
In other places with plenty of all vego eateries I'd rate Hullabaloo as a 3 due to the non vego element of the menu. Around here though the choices elsewhere don't add up to very much so I rate it a 4.

Lovely vegan food - Edit
So good to see more eating places catering for vegans and these guys do it so amazingly well.
We always pop in when nearby as they have separate vegan menus with plenty of choice, the food never dissapoints and always very high quality.
The only they could do to improve the experience would be to offer good herbal teas, such as Pukka, Yogi etc and have some soft drinks such as fentimans rather than the usual animal tested coke etc.
Pros: amazing vegan food with a very welcome separate ve
Cons: lack of nice teas and soft drinks

Hullabaloo - Edit
Regular restaurant with vegan menu, visited in March 2016 for dinner. Bread or soup based starter, and choice of half a dozen main courses and 2 desserts. Bread and olives good to start with then excellent filo pie with leeks and mushrooms and sides of boiled potatoes and vegetables. Large portions. Blueberry pancakes with berries was one excellent dessert and raspberry sorbet another. Service was attentive without being fussy. Tends to be busy so recommend booking. Best vegan food for many miles.
Pros: Vegan menu, High quality cooking, Generous portions
Cons: Need to book
