veeeery nice and good food and almost everything is vegan, in the few cases in which milk or egg is used, it is very clearly labeled. enjoyed also the barley tea that came with the food and the sesame buns for dessert !!

Amazing Chinese vegetarian food - Edit
Traditional Chinese restaurant, entirely vegetarian (no garlic or onions are used).
Read moreI had a small portion of mapo tofu and glutinous rice, incredibly delicious. Beware, however, that the mapo tofu is quite spicy.
This restaurant offers a traditional family-oriented setting, so I would recommend going with friends or family to share different dishes.
Overall, an exquisite experience.
Pros: Food quality, Setting, Filling portions

Great find - Edit
I’m so glad I found this spot through this app. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, and plenty of seating (it’s two levels). The menu was extensive, the food delicious, and though I don’t speak a lick of the local language, the service was incredible friendly. I really enjoyed my meal here — the handmade tofu balls with wasabi, mentioned by another HappyCow devotee as their favourite — and the stir fried cabbage as a side. Both were really tasty, and didn’t feel very heavy. It’s a touch expensive for one person; it lends itself better to family style eating.

Hui Tien Vegetarianism 回田蔬苑 is their name, this is a local vegetarian restaurant with international level you can tell, each dishes are clearly listing the ingredients in English and in Chinese both languages; all the dishes are influenced by the traditional king dynasty cuisine,

High quality vegan food - Edit
The food served here is high quality. It was a really pleasant experience. The dishes served are very unique and delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice too. My friend & I ordered the dumplings, crispy enoki mushroom with sweet and sour sauce, braised handmade tofu ball with wasabi, Kung-pao bean curd, and broccoli with chili. We really enjoyed everything but the dumplings were a huge disappointment. So much so that we did not even take them to go! Which says a lot considering I am one to always take all my leftovers home and finish them. The dumplings were the most recommended appetizer from our server but we couldn’t understand why. They tasted literally like nothing. If I had to choose my favorite dish it would be the braised handmade tofu ball with wasabi. I hate wasabi. Truly, I do. Yet I felt compelled to try this dish. It looked extraordinary and I was not disappointed! I’ll come back here and try other dishes the next time I visit Taipei.

Excellent Food - Edit
The restaurant was clean and nicely presented. We were in a hurry and they were friendly and obliging. They showed us the vegan and gluten free options. The food was excellent and the portions were large. The staff were friendly and the service was quick as we had to get back to the other end of the market they ordered us a taxi so we wouldn't miss our bus.

Fabulous! - Edit
We happened to be in the neighborhood after a hike at YMS and needed some food. We popped in and weren’t disappointed! Everything was made fresh and quickly. The owner even came around to chat with us. No English but lots of pictures in the menu. Only a handful of dishes have egg and most can be made without. Menu is clearly marked which dishes are NOT vegan (most of the menu is) Recommended if you’re in the area!!

My favourite restaurant in Taipei - Edit
It's hard to choose, but I think this might be my favourite restaurant in Taipei.
Read moreAlmost all dishes here are superb.
Try the enoki, the veg ham rolls, the mushroom ball-shaped croquettes, the sesame seed covered red bean crispy dessert thing, and the many other great dishes.
The meal comes with very good barley tea, free of charge. No alcohol is served.
It's a 5-20 minute walk from Shilin MRT station.
Little to no English is spoken, but the menu has English, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
A previous reviewer called the restaurant a 'Cosy little restaurant' and 'A small place', but there's a sizeable upstairs area as well, that's actually much nicer. Try to get seated there, instead of in the ground level part. They only open the upstairs area if it's busy enough though.
It's not cheap, but not crazy expensive either. We paid around 400-500 NTD per person, and had quite a few shared dishes. It's still value for money, as the food is really great, and the ingredients used are high quality as far as I can tell.
This is the restaurant I take my friends to when they visit Taipei, and it's always a big hit.
Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Cosy little restaurant - Edit
A small place, but with a large menu, also in English and with pictures. All the dishes I have tried were well made and enjoyable. I particularly like the bitter melon with egg, but that is not for everyone.

Eclectic menu, elegant dining. - Edit
We had a very nice dinner at this restaurant. The menu had a broad selection with many intriguing dishes. It included a stinky tofu, which we tried and found to be a very mild version. The dining room is very elegant. This was a very enjoyable dinner. The name of the restaurant is 回田蔬苑 in Chinese.
