Lots of vegan options, but I wasn't happy with the food. The mushrooms in my taco were so rubbery I couldn't chew them, the burrito was bland, and everything was large portions so we wasted a lot of food. Unfortunately I don't recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food with options for everybody - Edit
This place has a lot of amazing options for both vegans and non-vegans alike. I got their avocado enchilada combo plate and it was extremely delicious. The service was fast and the food came out quickly as well.

Enough said! Absolutely amazing. I brought 5 vegans and 2 carnivores and we all loved it! I met Hugo, wonderful man. I'd give 5 stars if the app would allow. I will be back often!

This place blew my mind. Almost everything on the menu had an option to veganize it. The food is authentic and absolutely amazing. I had the “chicken mole” and loved it.

I got the shiitake tacos and it originally said vegan but it came with dairy cheese. The waiter was nice and took it back but didnt give me new tacos for 20 minutes. Pretty dissapointed but they gave us the tacos for free so that was good.

I was so excited about this place!! They had a ton of vegan options, it was hard to choose. This is a great spot to go with someone who is not a vegan/vegetarian because there will be plenty of options for both of you. I got the vegan enchiladas, one sweet potato and one egg plant and they were both fabulous. The rice and beans are vegan also which is usually where Mexican food is a problem...The salsa is also outstanding. I could have drank that stuff. It was an overall wonderful dining experience. Love me some vegan Mexican food.

Amazing soyrizo quesadilla! - Edit
I almost overlooked this due to the low average but glad I didn't! It was conveniently located near Ocean Beach and also appealed to my omni family. I tried the soyrizo quesadilla, vegan fish taco and vegan chicken enchilada. The quesadilla was the best of them so I highly recommend you try that one!

We learned from our server that Hugo's Cocina is the same menu/staff/location under new ownership and name. The vegan options were extensive, and I had a hard time choosing!
Read moreI went with the Trio of Veggie Enchiladas (I chose spinach, mushroom, and tempeh, out of the 10 or so vegan options), and it was a huge portion with the rice and beans. Everything was so flavorful, so it was hard to stop eating it!
My husband got carne asada vegan fajitas. While the texture was not what he expected, the flavor was on point.
The place was huge, and everyone from singletons to big families were eating dinner. It was very casual, and service was friendly and helpful when we had questions about the vegan options.
Pros: extensive menu, huge portions, great value
