Busy Place for Breakfast or Lunch

This is located in a converted railroad station. Lots of train pictures and maps. Vegan options on the menu were limited, but there may have been more available if we had asked. We had the home made veggie burger. Did not like it much. The breakfast items looked great, but I don't think they were vegan.

Pros: Staff is very friendly and efficient.

Cons: Veggie burger is mushy, not tasty.

The quinoa bowl is amazing!

If you ask for the quinoa bowl with tofu instead of eggs, no goat cheese and add soy cheese it is vegan! The tofu is so good. They marinade it something and it’s my fave. The tahini sauce it comes with is already vegan!
There is also vegan French toast which is yummy (they add orange zest).

Pros: Fun atmosphere , The tofu is sooooo good

Cons: Busy get here earlier, Only two vegan options

Cozy, very vegetarian-friendly

Very quaint and cozy. Gets very busy during weekend brunch!

Staff understands “vegan” and is happy to help with substitutions and recommendations (eg no butter on toast). Had a delicious vegan breakfast, with hash browns and avocado. Plenty of options for lacto-ovo vegetarians.

Howards Station Occidental California

There are a few vegan options at this lively brunch restaurant in small, picturesque Occidental. I have ordered the tofu and brown rice bowl with kale and carrots and like the tahini sauce. But that's about it for me.

There are plenty of vegetarian options, however.

Pros: Cheerful and lively, Good tahini sauce, Friend loves huevos rancheros here

Cons: A bit noisy sometimes, When Howards is crowded, staff is rushed and food
