Visiting from TX and the breakfast sammies here are so good. I got the "tofu egg" and my hubby got his with the "chickpea patty". Both tasted amazing. We also got a brownie to try (the dessert case was mouthwatering).

I can’t say anything about the actual restaurant since we ate the food at a vegan fest, but my husband loved the crabby patty. He is not vegan and from Maryland, so strong feelings about crab and said it was delicious. Super high praise.

I had two really good sandwiches. A roast beef and a hot pastrami. I especially liked the melted cheese. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was good. They had a bakery serving a wide variety of cheeze cakes of which I sampled two types. A must visit!

Big portions, delicious and really satisfying! I got the steak and cheese omelette and loved it, and still had leftovers to bring home. I also got chocolate oreo cheesecake truffle balls and they let me use my own container (trying to be zero waste). I wish I lived closer because I would go here all the time.

Really lovely neighborhood eatery with warm staff and owners — loved witnessing how cared for and caring they are! Great brunch options; we had a hard time deciding. Large portions! Sweets and baked goods have a wide offering and many if not most were gluten free options. We tried the rum cake and it was VERY GOOD with a definite hit of rum. (!)

My partner and I shared the hash & grits meal and breakfast waffle meal, and we loved all of it! We’re vegan foodies, have traveled a lot, and have tried many vegan restaurants… and this is among the tastiest! I especially loved the crispy mock meat in the hash. The tofu scramble might be my favorite ever. We didn’t get dessert, but it all looked amazing. Prices are kinda high, but portions are good.

Starting this review before I even try the desserts bc it’s so good. I’m so happy this place was recommended to me. Had the hot pastrami and macaroni and cheese. Both had tons of flavor and were prepared wonderfully. I’m so full from those two items, the desserts will have to wait a bit. Awesome food, great vibe in the store space, and friendly staff! 10/10!

My daughter had the HD club sandwich, garlic parm fries, and a chocolate oreo cheesecake. I had the chickpea tuna sub, reg fries, and a great cup of coffee. We brought most home because the portions are generous. We also brought home vegan macaroni salad and carrot cake. Everything was fantastic.

Wow, monster sized delicious sandwiches!! Delicious brownies and cakes that i haven’t tried yet but look so amazing! Deliciously amazing diner style breakfast! Lets get back to those sandwiches!! Foot long subs packed with vegan deli meats and all the toppings. I recommend the blt and well every other sandwich they offer! The chicklette omelette is way better than any egg omelette, and those home fries are perfect!

I’m not local to West Orange and after a meet up nearby my husband and I were looking for somewhere with decent vegan options. HD came up as the closest option on HappyCow and I decided to stop in and see what it was about. OMG blown away!!! I got an HD club and I was obsessed with that sandwich!! We make the 45 min drive every once in a while because it’s so worth it. Best vegan baked goods I think I’ve ever had. Really want to make it for pizza day. Staff is super nice and there’s a lot of space inside.

I got the hot pastrami sandwich and the banana pudding cheesecake. The desserts all looked really good and I had a hard time choosing which one to get. It’s a good thing I live near by because I definitely will go back to try more of the menu items. The inside of the place was super clean and they had a place where you could sign your name. Everyone who worked there were extremely nice. The sandwich was very good!

I enjoyed the hoagies I have gotten from here. They're what a sub should be unlike those at some vegan places that have weird takes on classic subs. I only wish they had an equivalent of an Italian hoagie rather than the single "meat" choices they have.

I like good vegan cheesecake more than I ever liked real cheesecake. For reference, my favorite type of vegan cheesecake is the tofutti cream cheese mixed with tofu kind, but I've had some decent cashew based ones. I'm not sure what this was, but it didn't really taste like cheesecake and didn't have a great texture.
Regardless, I would definitely recommend trying How Delish HD.
