Best food in Ella - Edit
This was our favourite place for a feed in Ella! Small restaurant on the main street that is family owned. The food was delicious, made fresh and was big portions. Staff understood dietary requirements and were able to highlight vegan options on the menu. Kottu was unfortunately not vegan. Really recommend the samosas, probably the best samosas we've ever had! If you want to stay clear of the big, tourists places and support a family run business and enjoy proper Sri Lankan home styled cooking, then I really recommend this place.

I ate at house of kitchen twice and it was soooo good. Rice and 4 curries recommended. Delicious juices. You will not be disappointed

There is a saying that good hearts create beautiful food and this is very much the case here. Over the course of 2 nights we tried most of the curry’s and they are all divine. Also thumbs up for the fresh juices. Honestly you will not regret taking a seat and settling down to enjoy a gorgeous meal here. Warm welcome and great food.

You can order rice with four different vegatable curries, where you can choose between 13 curries (all vegan). My favorite was the eggplant currie that i got as an extra for free. I did not ask if the kottu is vegan or not.
