I just adore this lovely eatery. The new menu has a dish with plantains, black beans, rice, and avocado. I dream about it! The burgers are also delicious. Fingers crossed that they will expand further south.

House of Flavor is an all-vegan eatery located on Broadway in Bayonne, NJ. As the name suggests, all of the food here is packed with delicious flavor. Our group decided to split a few appetizers, so we went with the house wings and the nacho average. The wings were excellent and the provided ranch was a great for dipping. The nachos were a huge win. My friend and I couldn't stop ourselves from eating every last bite. I'll note that you'll definitely want to use a fork for the nachos. The plantain chips add such a great flavor profile, but they're small and basically impossible to eat by hand without making a mess. The fork saves you from constantly needing to clean your hands.
Read moreFor the main dishes, my wife enjoyed the chipotle mango tacos, while I went with the chicken parm sandwich and a side of fries. Our friend opted for the buffalo chicken wrap. My wife loved the tacos. She thought the mango flavor was subtle, but overall was a great blend with the chipotle sauce. My chicken parm was a tad messy (as it was overflowing), but it was incredibly delicious. The fried oyster mushrooms tasted just like a breaded chicken parm sandwich and the sauce was rich in flavor. Our entire group enjoyed my side of fries and remarked at how perfectly crispy they were. My friend was a big fan of the buffalo chicken wrap. She thought the buffalo sauce had a nice kick. The wrap did tend to unravel closer to the end of the meal, but she opted to finish it off with a fork.
Overall, we were all impressed by this restaurant. My wife is vegan, so finding a vegan comfort food spot like this is a great treat. Our omnivore friend also really enjoyed the meal - so this is a great spot even if you aren't plant-based!

Best in Bayonne - Edit
The food was really tasty and satisfying. We had the Falafel Wrap and the Picadillo Boats for lunch and both were great options, plenty on the plate. The cafe is light and comfortable, and the staff welcoming and accommodating. There are even vegan non-food products available, such as toothpaste, candles, and incense. This is a mellow eatery on a delightfully laid back street in Bayonne with beautiful classic vintage buildings all over the place. I look forward to future visits and eating here again.

What an aptly named restaurant! I had a stuffed plantain dish today that was out of this world. On top of that, they wonderful person who took my order at the counter was absolutely lovely. He told me what I wanted was his personal favorite and he wasn't kidding about how great it is. Plus, I was served enough to easily get two meals out of it.

We stopped in to eat and take away desserts while on a road trip, and were so pleased that we went a little out of the way from our route to go here. All the food was great, the desserts were all excellent and enjoyed later by many non-vegans, and the staff were so nice! We would definitely stop again!

I love coming here with my kids and wife, it’s one of my favorite spots because you get what you pay for. You get plenty of food and the Mac and cheese burger is too die for ! Also the philly cheese steak is amazing ! The workers are always polite and helpful, never had an issue with them, they know how to take care of a costumer and keep them.

I ate at House Of Flavor 3 out of the 5 Days I was in Bayonne. Everything I got was delicious and the staff was always so great. Beautiful atmosphere and even better food/beverages! I will definitely be going back.

At first we weren’t sure to go in cuz there was no customers, but good think we did, they opened not to long ago and I guess not a lot of people know about this place yet, I wish I had place like this near me (staten Island) turn out we had a whole place to our selves. Took our kids to this place and grandmother we were very empresses, not only food tasted very good but the presentation was very appealing and portions were huge. The place has a Spanish twist with modern style and chief really knows what she is doing. I definitely will come back to try other deliciousness and will definitely recommend.

Place was really cute. The food was sooo good. The nachos were huge and savory. The burger had a smoked taste like a regular burger. The jackfruit sliders were so good and really filling. The little mini cheesecakes were the best I've had since going vegan.
