Crossaint Heaven - Edit
This small little bakeshop specializing in crossaints and other vegan desserts was something I wasn't expecting in Tuscon. Especially right next to Midtown Deli, it's an great way to end your lunch with a sweet treat! I enjoyed the "cinnamon roll" style crossaint and the strawberry PB Frosting Cronut. I'm a huge fan of cinnamon rolls and theirs definitely satisfies that craving despite being a crossaint. The Cronut was also amazing as I've never had a cronus, let alone vegan. They also offer a wide variety of other desserts like Pies, cookies, and cupcakes which all looked delicious as well!

AMAZING pastries - the absolute best! - Edit
We tried a frosted sugar cookie, plain croissants, lemon curd croissant, and a hazelnut croissant. Everything was amazing. The texture and flavor of the pastries is just perfect.
Read moreThe menu was posted on the door, and there was a line. Some items sell out very fast. I think we got the last lemon curd croissant. Get there early! Or don't, and leave more for others. Either way, things are gonna sell out because they are the best pastries.
Pros: Amazing texture and flavor
Cons: Limited hours

Delicious - Edit
They are located next-ish to Midtown Vegan Deli, which makes it a convenient trip if you want to order from both. Midtown also carries some of their products. Yummy treats. Have had their cruffins, which are like a flaky sweet croissant in the shape of a muffin. The oatmeal cream pie was a little too sweet for my personal taste buds but my omni spouse said they were the best oatmeal cream pies he has ever eaten, vegan or non vegan. Have had a slice of chocolate cake that had some type of caramel sauce in it, too. Presentation of their items is artistic, they put a lot of love and care into their products.

Options I never thought possible - Edit
I’ve been vegan for a long time now, and in my travels, I’ve found some good vegan treats, but vegan croissants and similar style pastries have been relegated to the mediocre ones from Whole Foods, or the surprisingly abundant ones throughout Italy. So when I saw that this place had opened recently, I was determined to make the stop, and I’m so glad I did!
Read moreThe pastry options are incredible! I think the menu changes pretty regularly so I can’t comment on everything, but the baseline croissant is the best I have EVER had. The broccoli ched’r danish was similarly incredible, as was my chocolate pistachio cruffin (that’s a croissant muffin, for the uninitiated). I have another strawberry basil cruffin waiting for me, which I’m sure will be yet another incredible offering I had the opportunity to try from Houlden’s while spending a couple days in Tucson.
It was wonderful seeing a line out the door (it moves fast, don’t worry) and knowing that this place is seeing success early on (they also are open until sold-out, so if you want the full array of options, go early!). I cannot recommend this bakery enough, and the non-vegans I was with also loved their pastries and cakes. Of course, prices are a bit higher (I think $5 for a croissant), but considering the quality of the product and knowing you are supporting a small business, I do not think this should dissuade anyone.
Thank you Hannah for crafting such incredible treats, it was an absolute pleasure getting to try them.
Pros: Best vegan pastries I have ever had, Sweet and savory options, Changing menu

Don’t miss out - Edit
Simply the best. The pastries, the owners, the everything. I ate these for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the other day and don’t regret a thing. The croissant dogs are not to be missed and the twice baked almond croissants are life changing.
