Good pizza w/ solid plant based options but changes made… - Edit
Edit update: 2024
Read moreUnfortunately this establishment has converted to no longer being a 100% vegan pizzeria. I don’t use the term vegan loosely in this case but the owner made use of the label and claimed the title until this year 2024. Apparently the owner was “vegan” for many years however that’s no longer the case due to financial reasons of the business that’s all changed and their principles have been thrown out to the wayside.
Aside from this issue the V pizza is actually quite good; I’ll give them credit for that. They offer a variety of styles for slices and whole pies so there’s plenty of options if you’re interested. They are another cashless business, so they do not accept legal tender to conduct business.
…
Original review:
The chef at this pizzeria is a true pizza aficionado and a kitchen wizard.
They are serious about their love for pizzas and the craftsmanship for their pizza creations really shines through the menu.
It’s rare to find an array of classic pizzas styles offered as slices or whole pies that are completely plant based and executed deliciously. This spot is not your ordinary vegan pizzeria. There is no commercial store bought products. All of their ingredients such as the mozzarella , pepperoni, spicy sausage, sauces, dressings and of course the dough is made in house from scratch. They even choose to cook with organic ingredients.
I ordered slices of the Detroit style square and the white pie and what stood out the most was the freshness of the ingredients and the fantastic fermentation of the dough. The crust on both slices were crunchy, light and delicious! The underside of the crust had a nice browning and a great texture and crispness. I really enjoyed both slices equally. I was very impressed on the crispness of the GF Detroit slice, I didn’t realize it was GF until after I finished eating. The white pie slice was very creamy and delicious and the crust had no droopiness, it was nice and crispy which is my kind of crust! If you have an appetite order the garlic knots as they are a tasty bunch and are a great shareable.
Overall I highly recommend you check this spot sooner rather than later as you won’t regret it!

Veganized menu - Edit
Good amount of options for vegans. Depending what you get, some pizzas are great and others are just eh. The one that stood out was the Sicilian and SOJ. Buffalo pizza and garlic knots were forgettable. Price point is up there but where isn't it anymore.

Great vegan pizza - Edit
This pizza is pretty expensive, but highly delicious. Tried the supreme pizza with the everything bagel crust. I wish the broccolini were in bigger pieces so the flavor were more prominent, but overall it was quite good. The arrabbiata is also good but not mind blowing.
Read moreUpdating my review to say that the vegan white pizza is the bomb, as is the vegan buffalo. Since Forever Pie closed, this has become my #1 pizza place in LA. The cheese doesn’t stick to your mouth, the crust is thin and chewy, and the flavors are excellent.

Just go. Not only will you eat the best (or some of the best) pizza in your life, but you'll chat with one of the employees and he'll show you his Charlie Kelly tattoo, which, unbeknownst to you, will help manifest Charlie Day himself in a performance of "Dayman" that night at the Portugal the Man show at the Hollywood Bowl.
Okay, maybe that will only happen to us, but in all seriousness it was a dope place with incredible food. The Sicilian (add seitan) and garlic knots were unreal.

Wow! - Edit
I ordered a pizza, garlic knots, and some cauliflower bites. Everything was so delicious. The garlic knots were absolutely top tier, I've not been able to find vegan ones anywhere. I wish the cauliflower had a sauce instead of just ranch for dipping but they still had nice flavor. I really wanted to try the Caesar salad but they were sold out so that was heartbreaking.

I suppose I should have reviewed earlier! - Edit
This is my go-to vegan pizza spot even with a few other solid pizza options nearby because they always were a fully vegan option. Good variety and just solid with all the variety they have with round/square/toppings/etc. As of September 2023, that variety has been updated with adding dairy to the menu. I trust and will hope this will not take away from their current vegan selection and variety. Perhaps I should have reviewed earlier to help in what extra little way I could. I always give priority to and tip substantially extra to vegan exclusive restaurants to try to help in that way. This is a bit disappointing of course as I really enjoyed a fully vegan pizza location, but I understand the need to survive as a small business. Still rating 5 stars because it really is still great pizza regardless of my personal ideas on animal products.

I highly recommend this place! The pizza and cauliflower were outstanding. We started with the cauliflower and then had a margarita pizza, which was truly excellent. We were so impressed that we also grabbed a Sicilian pizza to-go and it did not disappoint - it was just as delicious cold later that night.

I’m from NY so I know good pizza and this pizza was incredible. My Omni fiancé loved it and said he’d never know it was vegan if I didn’t tell him. I ordered the Sicilian and the Detroit slices as well as a Caesar salad. The slices were delicious. So flavorful and crispy and large. The Caesar salad was also delicious!

Even if I wasn’t vegan I would love this pizza - Edit
Great pizza. Vegan or not, this is exceptionally good pizza. My fiancé is both gluten-free and vegan and I have to say I liked the dough for the gluten-free Detroit Detroit deep dish pizza as much or even more as the regular crust. Just phenomenal, the cheese tastes like regular cheese, granted I have not eaten non-vegan cheese in many years but I would be happy to take any one here to try this place. We dream of pizza like this, the only struggle will be for my waistline to not come here every day.
