Avoid at all costs unless you want to pay for an overpriced burger on a bed of lettuce

I gave this restaurant 4 tries and I'm done. Each time the staff has zero idea if the bun is vegan or not --- so on a bed of lettuce it is. They don't know what vegan is!

I even complained to the owner! If you offer a "vegan burger" on your menu, your staff should be educated enough to know if the ENTIRE burger (bun included) is vegan or not. At the very least, your kitchen staff should be able to educate the front of house staff. But no. Even after reaching out to the owner he wouldn't tell me if the bun is suitable or not. And to charge an extra $3 for an beyond patty (vs black bean burger, which is just mush) is absurd. The beyond ends up costing more than a meat burger AND IT'S WITHOUT BUN!

Better off going to Rosita's Mexican Grill right down the street as they at least know what vegan means!

Pros: vegan options

Cons: overpriced, without bun, staff uneducated about vegan

Not a good place for vegans

I worked here and time after time again heard a certain cook joking about putting blood on the vegi burgers. He wasn't just joking. The place at the time had nothing dedicated for vegans, no spatula no flattop.... nothing was dedicated to keeping the burger "vegan" until after the grill person handed it off. The only concern he had was is someone really vegan who wants bacon on their vegan burger. Good question if you're really concerned but touching a vegi burger with the spatula you just used for a meat burger, then saying oops I got some blood on it.... Not vegan, vegans most of the time have standards that don't include cow blood on their vegi burger. I'm not even sure how you get by serving gluten free stuff when most of the time I was there people were complaining the burgers were made wrong. I did fryer side which rarely got a complaint, but when you order vegan or gluten free, unless things have changed you might get a rare bloody cow burger with a normal bun. When I bought this up to the restaurants attention I was just called a liar but this blood onto meat thing become a daily joke to this cook and was no lie. Are you going to be the one suffering gluten allergy today? I saw one owner talking to a gluten allergy person and almost picking on the girl. I imagine by the time she walked out her to-go order was cold, the owner questioned her that long but still didn't understand it and the last question when she was walking off was "can you have candy" and of course there was no answer. Beer is what is treated seriously here. If you are coming to a burger place for the vegan options, they are slim to a fairy tale.
