Tasty and filling lunch and still delicious - Edit
3/5/2022 I’ve been coming to home Vegan Bar since it opened. Unfortunately I no longer work near there so if I can get there I will! Lately I’ve been having the “lamb” souvlaki bowl. This is tasty but also really filling! I like the mushroom lamb and I really enjoy the bread. The mix of veggies in the dish including olives is perfect. I always get a choc berry smoothie too.

Gem of a café a stone's throw from Southern Cross station. Tons of delicious options that are also healthy (as opposed to most options at the station!). Generous portions, fresh ingredients, delicious and good value for money.

I hadn’t been here since well before the pandemic, so took advantage of being available on a weekday to have an early lunch here. When I looked at the menu (overlooking the QR code on the table) I remembered a lot of the items on it. I decided to go with the chicken burger and, having missed my morning greens drink, the Green Goddess smoothie. The burger was not bad, and the fillet, which I didn’t actually see because it was covered in the cheesy melt, was quite tender and not stringy, tough or unpleasant in texture. Incidentally the cheese did have flavour, and was actually the first taste that hit me when I bit into the burger. I was a bit surprised that I was well and truly finished the burger before my smoothie arrived. It was nice, but not as thick as I expected with the banana, date and avocado in it. The place wasn’t exactly dripping with ambience, but it was still nice to come back and have lunch at one of Melbourne’s decreasing number of fully vegan cafes.

Was looking forward to trying this very well rated vegan cafe this morning for brunch. They have an extensive menu so there’s something here for everyone - nutritious salads, burgers, curries, Buddha bowls, wraps, soups, pastries, smoothies and smoothie bowls and an extensive selection of delicious cold pressed juices. They also have a dessert cabinet!

The menu clearly marks dishes with chilli and those without. Why it does this is unclear, because even the dishes marked without it arrive covered in chilli oil and topped with fresh chilli.

Lots of unique meal, snack and drink options available. I had the Big Brekky and it was perfection - properly filling and delicious! Cute little seating area too, with gorgeous decor. I've dined here a few times and have always had a great meal and great experience. Solid 5 stars!

I like it. I wish Home Vegan Bar was open on the weekend so other people in the family could go with me. It's a very casual place, definitely a lunch place. They have some food ready to go and some juices bottled to go as well. Most of the time I like their food. I did reorder the breakfast tofu muffin, I forgot what it's called, but the second time it came out completely cold on the inside and barely warmed on the outside. It didn't taste good that cold. I forgot to complain, I hate complaining. Next time I will perhaps check my food is properly heated before biting into it. Other than that my experiences have been good. The tables get grotty when they are busy but they can get really busy.

Probably the best Big Vegan Breakfast I've had! - Edit
First time coming to this place, and I wish I had come sooner. I grabbed the Big Breakfast, which had an incredible tofu scramble, mushrooms, tomatoes, salad, avocado, toast, facon and a massive hash brown - it was actually the perfect definition of 'big', unlike some other café offerings.

I also grabbed their homemade falafels, which were super flavoursome and not at all dry, like a lot of falafels generally can be.
The cafe has a pretty extensive breakfast and lunch menu, as well as some take away items such as rolls, salads and treats.
The venue could probably sit about 20-30 people, and it's location is a very short walk from Southern Cross Station.
The only real downside is that it's only open Monday-Friday!!

Such an amazing place. Beautiful food, such friendly service, and good prices in my opinion. Only thing I would say is they had a lil supply issue when we went so there was no banana bread and lots of the smoothies were sold out/gone. The raw desserts looked so delicious too. They also have raw cacao and fiery dragon cocoa(cocoa and chilli!!!). I’ll be back soon!!

Had breakfast here and was so impressed with the flavour of the meal and how quickly everything came out. I had a soy latte which was made very well, and the vegan big breakfast which had the BEST tofu scramble I’ve ever tried.

Read moreFairly priced and a really good vibe! The portion size was absolutely huge and was exactly what I was after. I had the big vegan breakfast and they mean BIG.
Loved the aesthetic of the place too, incredibly welcoming feel and perfectly fits being a vegan only restaurant.
I left full yet not bloated, happy, and with a decent amount of power on my phone thanks to that absolute angel!

If you are looking for something that tastes good and makes you feel good, then this is the place. My partner and I have tried the savoury bowls and they are delicious. I think now they also have some less healthy options like burgers, subs and chips which I also look forward to trying next time I'm in Docklands

The restaurant was super adorable. Great vibe, nice location and very easy to find. I ordered the Big Breakfast and the Facon was delicious! The tofu scramble was also really good and the mushrooms were seasoned well.

We did a quick Happy Cow search and stumbled upon Home Vegan Bar, and we were very pleasantly surprised! The food was crisp and fresh, and really tasty. The portion sizes were also very good. The staff were really accommodating for our daughter who is a little fussy. We ordered the Teriyaki Bowl, Schnitzel Burger, Nachos, Dumplings and a Schnitzel Panini. The only real downside was that the schnitzel in the panini was still a little cold in the middle from being reheated from the fridges. Great range of juices and smoothies. Would defo go back!
