Vegetarian food

The most delicious food I’ve had in France and we’ve been here a fortnight! Homemade, local ingredients. Fab

Hearty vegan options

In this part of France it is not so easy to get vegan food. Sadly the two best vegan restaurants in Nice have closed. In Cagnes there are no vegan restaurants. This little cafe opened 7 months ago and serves the best vegan food I found in Cagnes. The food is freshly made on the spot using local products where possible and comes across as honest. It is simple but tasty and healthy (low oil use). They have some cooked, warm (can be easily made) vegan dishes and soups making for a hearty vegan meal. It is a pity there are not vegan desserts but I hope they will add in the future. It is open from morning for breakfast, lunch and tea with snacks, till 17:00. Nice indoor and outdoor seating, just two steps from the sea-front. Not worth a detour but definitely worth a side-trip from Nice when combining with a visit to the pretty village of Haut des Cagnes and a walk on the nice Cagnes promenade. The owners are French but the lady has worked for several years in England and the US so speaks excellent English.

Pros: several vegan options , easy to make vegan dishes, open minded French owners that speak English

Cons: Still serves meat, fish and dairy, Desserts are not vegan
