Very nice food and service - Edit
Lots of options here and vey friendly staff so you'll get a good service. The mock meat is very good, made of Seitan I think so if you're gluten free then maybe not the best. Faux chicken satay was pretty nice but not mind blowing. The char-siu was very good though and refreshing. Would definitely recommend it as a place to go in Bodmin!

Excellent vegan menu. - Edit
We were delighted to find this restaurant and went for 2 nights running. There’s an extensive vegan menu and some vegan wines. Food is freshly cooked , portions are generous. At time of writing it has a 5 star hygiene rating and there’s 20% off vegan menu on Thursdays.

Amazing experience. Give it a try, we can recommend it highly enough. - Edit
Park any preconceived ideas about a place having to only serve plant based food to do great vegan food and your likely to have a great time at Hoi An. This establishment totally deserves a five stars it is just that Happy Cow reserves them for plant only based eateries!
Read moreWe dined here for the first time last week and quite frankly it was a revelation. Across the whole of Cornwall (we live here an we can tell you how hard we have tried to find anywhere making an attempt to do vegan evening dining justice) we have not found anywhere else which offers a selection of Asian vegan options which so much care and attention to detail as has gone into the ones here. Fabrice the head chef has and continues to invest so much time into producing interesting vegan menu options (including his own seitan and other vegan recipe components) it is simply amazing. We know because we were so impressed we felt compelled to talk with him about it at great length. :-)
Yes the dishes are named after their meat equivalents, but with the aim of appealing to vegans and flexitarians alike and the need for the menu to stack economically, who wouldn't. If you need to swap Faux Beef or Faux Pork Char-Siu for Seitan in Black Bean sauce or Seitan Char-Siu then do it and give yourself a chance to experience their innovative approach to bringing plant based food to a wider audience.
Our waiter and waitress were super friendly and professional without being imposing and the chef and manager could not have been more willing to share their excitement and dedication to bringing vegan food to a wider audience.
We can't wait to go back for lunch or dinner again soon.
Pros: Lovely staff and dining experience, Great range of Asian vegan menu options, Home produced meal components

So many options - Edit
A whole page of vegan menu and all delicious! We tried about 7 dishes and we'd have all of them again (though with so many things to try, it'll take a while to repeat). Staff were also very friendly. It was pricey, but worth it.

Very Tasty - Edit
Great food, 20% off the vegan menu on Thursdays when we went.
Read moreOrdered most of the menu between 4 of us and had to take some home!
Very tasty starters and great fake duck style pancakes.
Staff are all friendly and helpful and know what they’re talking about.
Only gripe is the “Fiery chilli chicken” was not fiery or even very chilli. Had a nice flavour but no kick at all, when I asked the staff, was offered chilli flakes and oil to add as they cater the hottness to suit everyone?!
Have never heard of such a thing, and next time (cos we’ll definitely go again was delicious) shall make sure not to order anything spicy as it’s just disappointing.
Rest of the food all spot on.
Pros: Full vegan menu, Knowledgeable staff, Fake meats made on site
Cons: Not cheap, The hottest dish on the vegan menu is not hot, Food marked as Fiery chilli, should have heat

Great food - Edit
This restaurant is in the Westbury Hotel and serves delicious food. There is an entire vegan menu. I started with the vegan prawn crackers and then had the faux chicken and cashew nuts with jasmine rice. A lovely meal out but it was very pricey!

Good well executed Chinese food but overpriced - Edit
I enjoyed my meal here, there was nothing wrong with it, it was all well executed and avoided the typical pitfalls of a Chinese in the UK (greeseyness goopyness), but there wasn't anything that exciting about it either, which I was really hoping for. That said the seitan was home made and the popcorn tofu was great. The black bean had actual black beans in which is always a bonus. Maybe a 3.5/5 stars.

Would go again - Edit
Seated and served quickly in a spacious dining area. Starters and mains were amazing. All the typical non-vegan dishes had been veganised really well. Some of the vegan prawn crackers were on the staler side, but otherwise tasty. Had faux char-sui pork and crispy beef, though they had run out of faux pork so a double serving of the crispy beef instead.

Nice to see so many options - Edit
We enjoyed eating at Hoi-An, and there were lots of options for vegans. The starter platter to share was our highlight - unfortunately we both felt that the main was lacking a little flavour.

Unexpected gem - Edit
Bodmin is not the greatest town for evening vegan eating (although for during-the-day nosh you should check out Huckleberry's), so we were relieved to find that our hotel restaurant unexpectedly offered lots of vegan options. And the food is amazing! The Thai green mock chicken curry is the nicest green curry I've ever had. Vegan wines are clearly indicated on the wine list; the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are great. I'd recommend Hoi An highly.
