Good but wow, expensive! - Edit

Definitely a "hipster" joint. The food was good but 18 euro for a relatively small veggie burger and 20cl of juice is outrageous. Staff were nice enough.

Probably okay to visit once if you have money to burn, but I probably wouldn't go back unless I had no other choices.

Cons: Expensive

A great, friendly, hip vegan eatery - Edit

Close to the Buttes Chaumont park, Hobbes is a great addition to Paris' growing selection of vegan and veggie eateries.
Fresh, daily-changing menu featuring mainly vegan dishes the day I went. About 5 starters, mains and desserts each day.
I had a stuffed squash to start, chick pea stew for my main. My friends had a quinoa & sweet potato hot starter, another had the falafel starter, and we ordered a vegan burger for one of the mains. The burger has optional gluten free bread and homemade potato chips.
Everything was fresh and tasty, attractively served and reasonably priced.
Nice selection of freshly made juices as well as beers, wine, lemonade, teas etc.
For lunch, they offer a fixed price meal deal (dish of the day plus juice, dish of the day plus dessert and juice, etc)
Extra points for friendly staff and lovely decor.
Close to metro Pyrenées (line 11)

Pros: majority vegan or optionally vegan

Good but nothing special - Edit

After reading the HC reviews, I expected maybe too much from this place. It is nice and works with good products but the food is average, has nothing special in fact. What was good though was to find an almost entire vegan menu (only one or two items were only vegetarian). I ordered a chirashi, good, but very simple in fact with simple rice, vegetables and tofu. And the portion was not huge. My starter, an artichoke salad, had also nothing special. Nevertheless, my friends seemed to have enjoyed their burger.

To sum up, it is for me an average location, providing vegan food with fresh products, but that's it. And that makes it overpriced because portions are not huge.

Pros: almost entirely vegan, organic, fresh products

Cons: small portions, expensive, food has nothing special

Delicious vegan menu. - Edit

I tried their vegan burger yesterday and I have to tell you that it was delicious!!!!

Not only did they make it with their own home-made buns, the tempeh bacon adds that extra touch to the harmony that this burger makes.

Highly recommended if you are around the neighborhood.

Very good - Edit

Cute little restaurant with tasty, fresh, organic cuisine. A big part of the menu is vegan and the friendly and helpful staff explained what it wasn't (in English as I don't speak French). We tried the burger with a really nice side, a big bowl with grains and veggies, all very good, and two excellent desserts. Highly recommended.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, Really good food, Friendly staff

one of the best vegan burgers i ever had - Edit

We had an early lunch at "Hobbes", before going to the parc Buttes-Chaumont, and liked the lunch so much that we returned after the visit of the parc to have the dessert there, too. The vegan Burger was very tasty, the sides were excellent and the bun was baked by themselves, everything very good. We observed the staff explaining in English to a family of four the ingredients of the different dishes on the menu: they were very helpful, and the service was quick all the same. Sitting outside of the restaurant on the sidewalk, there was a lot of noisy and smelly traffic - but after all: this is Paris and you don't expect it to be like a recreation home!

Pros: very good food, Friendly staff

Great spot near Parc des Buttes-Chaumont - Edit

We had a great meal consisting of hot chocolate, a banana milkshake, coconut curry, and a burger. We also had a nut fig cheesecake for dessert. The best parts of the meal were the curry and the cheesecake. The bun for the burger was not great but the sides were good. Plenty of vegan options and great location near Parc des Buttes-Chaumont.

Pros: location , variety

lovely place with great food - Edit

Really nice place with very nice staff. I had the apple and fennel juice, lasagne and carrot cake for €18. All were delicious and fresh tasting. Staff were really helpful explaining the vegan choices for my husband who had the watercress soup with hazelnuts and fennel seeds plus the fig cheesecake which he really enjoyed. I would recommend 100%.

Wonderful! - Edit

We stopped here for lunch and were happy with several very delicious options. The soup of the day was very flavorful, the lentil salad was fresh and colorful, burger was a bit soft but delicious, and desserts were just the right size. The decor was simple and nice. We'll be back to test out the dinner options soon!

Pros: Delicious food, Nice atmosphere, Friendly service
