Funny place with good vegan food - Edit
It’s a very special place with lots of gaming stuff in the entrance - the restaurant is located behind the gaming hall where you can play Mario games, Billard and stuff.
Read moreFor food, there’s 3 different “shops” you can order from, Hoax being the vegan one (there’s also a pizza shop with 1 vegan option and another one we didn’t really check) - Hoax has a super interesting and special menu. We had scrambled Tofu Shawarma in a crunched Wrap and a Mix platter with seitan-“chicken”, avocado and special fries. We loved it both!
Definitely recommending to go there and bring some extra time to have fun in the gaming hall!

One of the best junk food meals I've had - Edit
As a local, my first visit here was long overdue. Finally made it there and had difficulties choosing what to eat. It was so nice to have several options that are not burgers. I had Parmesan & Marinara "chicken" with oregano fries, and the portion was very tasty and full of interesting ingredients, such as pomegranate seeds, radish, carambola, and sprouts, which you might not expect in junk food. The only downside was that the food could have been warmer. Not sure if it left the kitchen that way, or if it was just so cold in the restaurant (it was) that it cooled down quickly. It also took a while to get the food, but it was a Saturday evening and the place was busy.

I haven't tried anything on the menu that I don't like. Especially the loaded fries with tofu and these filled "breads" they have, are sooo tasteful. They have also yummy soft icecream for those who like sweets like I do. 🤗

The best vegan junk food in Finland - Edit
Ok so I've visited Hoax several times during it's history and even though not every visit has been worth five stars, the overall is. I suggest to take a kombo platter instead of burgers. I love the tofu katsu with little fixes. Truffle mayo tastes almost the same as their old garlic sauce and I suggest to take it instead of the garlic sauce on the list rn. They serve Oatly's soft ice cream (pehmis) and it's perrrrfect! They have an ice cream dish that changes monthly but also the Hoax pehmis is great.
Read moreTIP! Due to long lasting construction site in the railway station area (started 6/2025) the best way to find Hoax is to google yourself to S-market Pendoliino, go inside, walk towards the railway station and take the stairs down. The restaurant is in the right. The old entrance is closed.

They serve great junk food with a korean/asian twist. Really tasty and plenty of options to choose. Atmosphere is cozy too, there are nostalgic arcade games such as pinball machines.

Fabulous burger: the "marinara" cheezburger with marinara sauce, pepperoni, and balsamic glaze - an umame bomb! Tasted great, and with a side of chips it was filling. It's in a retro games arcade too - why not!

Read moreWe are talking about bar food. It is not necessarily bad but it is not outstanding. I was there twice and the portions are not filling. I was hungry afterwards.
I think it would be cool that restaurant customers could have 3 tokens to play in the arcades. Or something like that. Food is on the edge of pricey bar food and as a customer I won't be over expending for the arcade machines.

The restaurant is little bit hard to find, but once we got there we really enjoyed the concept of the place! The burgers were really good! Also loved the loaded fries. It‘s a little bit pricey but definitely worth a visit.

Delicious food but quite pricey and portions are small. I was still hungry after the 18.5€ combo. Soft serve ice cream was great and filling dessert.

The restaurant shares the space with mexican restaurant, a bar, and classic arcade coin games.

We tried two of their burgers and omg.. They were the best ones I’ve ever had. It was a bit pricey but it’s worth it, the location is a bit.. Uhm, it wasn’t easy for me to find it 🥲 But yeah, if you’re in Tampere you need to visit this place. The decoration is amazing, if you love video games you’re going to adore this!

Hoax is easily in my top 3 vegan places in Finland. An absolute must every time in town or passing by. Have not found a single menu item i didn't love. I keep trying to come up with excuses to visit just to get heavenly junk food 🤤🤤 Today's choice was combo 2: tofu katsu with garlic fries and kimchi. Incredible.

We went to HOAX to have something light for evening snack. Well, it did not work. The food was great and the portions were huge. We ended up eating way too much for a light snack. We had a shawarma and a combo, both were delicious. A must visit restaurant in Tampere. You can grab food and drinks from another restaurant and drinks from a bar that share the lot.
