Very average - Edit
Not many vegan options but the soup I had was ok. There was a ‘vegan’ traybake in the cabinet but it had honey so obviously some vegans won’t eat that

Yum yum yum - Edit
Great service, lovely sunny outside deck and some delicious vegan options (limited options but they are amazing). Their vegan dessert cakes are delicious!

Something for vegans - Edit
Had a quick breakfast at this place - only a couple of labelled vegan options but could modify a vegetarian option and was happy with that. Great vegan cake options, I think there were two or three - the walnut cake was to die for.

A lovely place with very few vegan options - Edit
Considering how charming this place is, it’s all the more unfortunate that there are so few options for vegans here. You have basically two on the breakfast menu and two on the lunch/dinner menu. Also smoothies, and during our visit there was exactly one vegan dessert, an apple walnut streusel.

Warm and friendly service even when they’re busy. Street parking out front.

Hearty eat - Edit
We had the lentil burger and a locally brewed beer for lunch and it was a satisfying, hearty meal. Very nice option when in Kaikoura.

very good! - Edit
Only really two vegan options, the salad and burger, but these are amazing! Some of the best falafel we've ever had. Highly recommend. The green smoothie was also delicious.
Read moreJust a heads up, the waitress told us the hash browns are not vegan as they contain egg. This limits their breakfast vegan options.

Lovely lentil burger - Edit
I've been here twice in one day now. They have limited vegan options on the menu but do have raw cake slices that seem to change regularly.
Read moreHad a lovely vanilla and almond raw slice in the morning with a rice milk flat white coffee then came back for lunch and had a wonderful lentil burger loaded with hummus, salad, beetroot and avocado.
Lovely seating area outside for views of the mountains and friendly staff too.
Pros: Amazing lentil burger, Almond, coconut, soya or rice milk for coffee, Vegan cake
Cons: Limited vegan mains

Plenty of options - Edit
Lots of veggie and vegan options. And you can make the veggie ones vegan but you get charged for "extra" even though it's a swap. I got the potato deal which was lovely but very small. My boyfriend got the roast vege salad with falafel instead if feta which I would recommend, that was great.

Cons: Expensive, small portions.

Nice Breakfast but too expensive... - Edit
We had a tasty cooked breakfast here along with a nice kale smoothie and good coffees. A couple of Vegan options on the menu & a couple of vege options that are easy to convert to vegan.
Read moreAlso, a few tasty vegan slices in the cabinet for mid morning snacks.
Friendly service and a nice sunny verandah to enjoy a Kaikoura breakfast on.
But, if you remove eggs off a menu option & ask for it to be replaced with a hash brown to make it vegan.....you shouldn't be charged $3 extra for that main!

Great cafe - Edit
This cafe was a great find while on a roadtrip! The food was absolutely delicious. The menu had clearly marked which items were vegan and/or vegetarian. It is a lovely, clean and sunny (at least the day I was there) cafe. Definitely a good place for a civilized meal!
