Second location of the Atlanta all-vegan hibachi restaurant. Offers plant based chick'n, shrimp, tofu, mushrooms, and Impossible burger. Can add vegan egg or hemp seed. All sauces made in-house including yum yum and spicy gochu. All hibachi plates have multiple protein options. Also serves fries and tacos. 100% gluten free. This location has no seating. Option to order ahead or use order screen inside and wait for food in the pickup locker. NOTE: Take out only. Reported closed November 2023.

Vegan shrimp !! - Edit

This is the only place I’ve been to that offers vegan shrimp- & their take on it made from konjac root is super interesting and worth trying. This is a really great place to try to get the full flavors and experience of a hibachi dinner but made fully vegan! (Including vegan yum yum sauce !!)

Greasy and delicious - Edit

First, a warning: Hippie Hibachi Decatur is in a food hall and you will have to wind your way through a maze of food stalls to get to it. It's very loud and bright in there and if you get sensory overload easily you might want to go with delivery.
That said, I loved the food I got here: the 2 protein plate with shrimp and tofu. The shrimp they have is denser than the vegan shrimp I've had at other restaurants but still very good. The tofu was stellar and I would get just the tofu if I were getting a one protein plate. The yum yum sauce was super good - I've never encountered a vegan one elsewhere so I don't have anything to compare it to but it definitely elevates the protein/veg/rice. (I got an extra container for Maximum Sauce.)
Overall it reminded me very much of the cheap tofu teriyaki + fried rice plate I would get in college from the resident "I'm so drunk and I need grease" place, but much better. The portions are huge and I got 3 meals out of my plate. The food is pretty greasy, which I personally love, but my friend ate their food really fast and the combo of speed+grease left their stomach upset, so if you're not good with greasy food you might want to pace yourself or pick another place. I for one will definitely be back.
