Vegan bakery - Edit
This vegan bakery, surprisingly, lacks a proper coffee machine, choosing instead to focus on a milk teas and other beverages.
Read moreI liked their black sesame cake as it wasn’t too sweet. The matcha scone and cinnamon roll however were both too dry.

All Vegan Bakery - Edit
It was heaven for a vegan like me! The fact that we don’t need to check whether a bread or pastry contains milk, egg, or butter is less of a hassle for me. They already did it for us.

The chocolate cake in a chocolate bun was tasty and not to sweet. The black sesame bun was good too, a bit sweet (don't know if it's supposed to be sweet or savory).

A plethora of bready options, but too much plastic! - Edit
There's a ridiculous range of baked goods to choose from, with many unique flavors too. Everything we bought was super light and fluffy, but the stand out for me was the lemon cake encased in a cherry bun -- so creative and tasty!
Read moreThe only thing I really don't like is that every single product is wrapped in plastic (unless I'm wrong and it's all biodegradable plant-made packaging). There has to be a better way.

Tons of options - Edit
Cute little bakery with a ton of options. Even the savory things are sweet. Almost all buns are the brioche kind worh different flavors and fillings. Park nearby. Soymilk drinks made with unsweetened homestyle milk with strong bean flavor.

Vegan bakery near Songjiang Nanjing - Edit
Great bakery offering a variety of baked goods, desserts and drinks to go, all vegan. Since it's quite close to the Songjiang Nanjing MRT station, it's convenient to get to. Only side note, all the baked goods are really quite sweet, even the salty ones, but that's bread in Taiwan for you, just not my personal preference.

Delicious! - Edit
We got there right before closing and just grabbed a bunch of stuff that they had left. Everything was so good. My wife's aunt (who has lived in Taipei for decades) said their pineapple cake was the best she's ever had! I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Taipei. If you're vegan, this is a must visit.

Amazing coffee and baked goods - Edit
Sicilian lemon coffee is amazing here. The cinnamon roll and custard bun are my favourites, the hot dog was too sweet for me. Has a small seating area outside too.

Cool place all vegan - Edit
I wasn’t a fan of the sweet soft breads (tried 3 different ones) but it just isn’t my things I guess. I’ve heard the cinnamon rolls are amazing so I would come back to try those

Amazing - Edit
I thought Yiihotang was the GOAT of vegan bakeries here, but Hip Pun really gives it a run for its money. Although there are fewer cakes, they have more bread types and even have a couple traditional desserts like pineapple cake that have a vegan salted duck egg yolk in the middle (which actually tasted like it)! Definitely a must visit - though everything is in plastic packaging.

MUST VISIT!! - Edit
Don't waste a morning in Taipei not going to this place!! Couldn't believe the amount of choice and decent prices. Got a bacon and cheese, and a salted butter pineapple bun to eat there, and a hot dog to takeaway. The food was so good I then also got a tuna bun and a "meat floss" bun to takeaway too. Sat outside and had a Sicilian lemon iced coffee - AMAZING!! My only regret is not going my first two days in Taipei, I will be back tomorrow for my last!!

Vegan Baked Goods - Edit
We ordered some tea and had a few of the small sandwiches while sitting at the small table outside. We then went back and purchased more baked goods to have for the following day. Great selection and fair pricing. Happy to have been able to find a vegan bakery in Taipei. Highly recommended.

Just awesome - Edit
I come here all the time when I'm in Taipei. I'm a fiend for bakeries, and Hip Pun hits all the right buttons.
Read moreSweet or savoury, you can't go wrong here. Pineapple buns and coffee buns are amazing. Really nice cinnamon rolls with just the right balance of sweet and spicy. Red bean and taro buns with vegan whipped cream. All the odd savory pizza and pepper buns you can handle. Good breads. Cakes, too. Just go crazy with it.
They also do some real nice coffee, mainly with oat milk, though it's a little on the pricier side.

Loved the soft, fluffy, creamy salted butter buns. Also enjoyed their Taiwanese style croissant (not European style) - crunch outside, soft inside, symmetric shape.

Vegan bread and beyond - Edit
Bakery has lots of varieties of bread; some with sweet filling like taro and mochi; others with vegan cheese/meat toppings. I tend to over buy more than i can handle. Also, there is a friendly cat that wander about the shop greeting customers.

Nice cinnamon roll! - Edit
Have heard about Hip Pun for a reputation vegan bakery for a while, finally got a chance to visit them. Though their shop is not right at the corner from the MRT station, it’s only within less than 10 mins walking distance (bus stops May also near nearer).
Read moreThey offer a good amount of varieties for bread. In the morning, there’s also an area for discount breads from yesterday or so. (You could also direct message them to ask about the item they gonna have tomorrow)
*I bought cinnamon roll this time and would like to visit there again for it and give a try for carrot cake as well!
BTW, the owner also arrange an area for collection. I also bought a nice scented candle there 🕯

Some good, some bad - Edit
Hip Pun started serving breakfast on 2020-07-06. I tried the future bowl (blended soy milk, blueberries, and bananas topped with strawberry preserves, banana slices, pumpkin seeds, raisins, walnuts, dried cranberries, and oats; only available Fridays and Saturdays) and the vegan egg while indulging in the French toast (more like a ham and potato grilled cheese) and PB snail bakery items. The burgers looked good, too: I’ll need to try one next time.

Returned for the first time in a while, and all the buns I got were mediocre at best. The coffee-flavored Mexican bun with salted cream was okay except the salted cream, the baked bacon corn bun was flavorless, and the olive and jalapeño bun was dry and bland. I’ve realized I need to be choosy with the items I get: not everything is fantastic.
—
I love this vegan bakery so much. They help the community by leaving out old breads in a cart with drawers on their front porch. An older woman who probably lives in the neighborhood came by around 18:30 to grab anything remaining. Before she did that, I got to try a pineapple bun, which was delicious! I saw so many different items I wanted to try, including their Sacher torte (NT$100 per slice), but I ended up being practical and got a loaf of vegan bacon and potato bread loaf for my upcoming plane ride since I doubt I’ll find United’s vegan in-flight meals satisfactory. The staff recommended that I still freeze it and then reheat the slices before heading to the airport. Starting at 19:00, all breads are 15% off, so that sweetened the deal. I’m definitely coming back here whenever I’m in Taipei.
Pros: Amazing vegan breads, Great vegan dessert options, Tasty vegan drinks
Cons: Inconsistent in which items are good, Some buns are bland
