Great vegan breakfast, and more - Edit
While in Philadelphia for work, I desperately wanted a proper breakfast other than the bagel or oatmeal on offer at my hotel. Hip City Veg was a couple blocks away, and was great, fast and all vegan!! I am not a fan of mayo, and there was A LOT of it on my breakfast sandwich, but otherwise, YUM! I wish I’d tried a “milk”shake, but didn’t since it was breakfast.

Vegan fast food, delicious lemonades - Edit
We usually try to go to different place, try different vegan restaurants but we went to HipCityVeg in DC twice in on day, we got quickly addicted to their carrot ginger lemonade so basically we had no other option than to check out the sister in Philly.

We got: Disco CHick’n which is grilled chick'n, organic smoked tempeh, lettuce, pickle and organic soy mayo and then we ordered Philly steak - pulled steak, grilled onion, mushroom, and organic ketchup on a long roll - uuuf, this one was huge.
Obviously, you can’t go wrong in this place. At least us. We loved it all. It felt fresh, vegetable was juicy and crunchy, bread soft and just perfect.

I can't help myself, I have to compare it with DC. I think both places are very busy, the food is delicious in both, but there is one difference - the staff. In DC everybody was smiling, happy, super friendly. Even the guys in the kitchen. In Philly they were good, quick, but not very friendly. In DC I could tell they like what they do, they seemed like they all get along....I missed that here.

I got the chipotle fajita wrap and my girlfriend got the crispy hipcity ranch, they were both delicious. We are visiting Philly from Long Island, I wish there were places like this on the island!

I know this is a vegan fast food restaurant, but given it's in the city, the high prices, and the long wait, I expected so much better. For one, the food is just bad. I had the curry tofu wrap, and it wasn't that bad. It was just weak in taste and not that filling. I still felt like I should give it a chance and got a chicken wrap next time. It was tasteless again and a bit burnt (but in their defense I think it was supposed to be). The last time I tried it, I got the ziggy burger cause it was high in popularity. It wasn't tasteless like the others, it just tasted bad. It immediately reminded me of McDonald's (and I don't mean that in any good way). I also got sweet potato fries and I didn't know before this that you could make me dislike sweet potatoes so much. I got a weird crunchy one that skeezed me out. They were also too salty. My thing is, if it's gonna have a traditional fast food feel like McDonald's and BK, then mimic the prices! I can't believe this place has such good reviews and enough business to have multiple locations...

Went here for lunch today while visiting with my partner's parents (omnivores) and they were very happy eith a chick'n sandwich and a Portobello sandwich. We got the Philly steak, and the curry tofu wrap plus fries, a banana whip and drinks, all delcious and very filling. A bit of a wait and don't expect to find a seat, but well worth it!

Fast Food Joint... but Vegan! - Edit
This is a good place to go if you're craving some fast food but don't want to pick your way through a menu to find vegan/vegetarian friendly options at your usual fast food joint. The flavors are good and there is a nice variety on the menu between sandwiches, salads, dessert options, etc. There is a small interior here that never has enough seating and the line takes up the whole space, so waiting for food is often uncomfortable and getting a seat is almost impossible (but you can enjoy your food in Rittenhouse around the corner if it's nice out!). I have heard bad things about their management but cannot speak from experience. Haven't tried their catering but I do appreciate an all-vegan catering service.

I'm am a HUGE buffalo chicken fan. I'm not lying when I say converting to a whole food/plant based dirt was the thought of not eating a buffalo chicken cheesesteak weekly. So I'm always on the hunt for a good buffalo based sandwich. The Buffalo Bella did not disappoint. Mushrooms are so much better than chicken and the sauce is an awesome blend of hot and sweet. The place is tight and I can't imagine what it just be like at lunch time (I was thereat 5pm). Try it.

Food was sooooo good. The rotating shakes are worth asking about. Free water with lemon. Counter staff are cheerful and friendly. Such good food. Not the fastest in the world but certainly quick to get fed. Good food.

Great options to choose from. I was able to eat vegan, soy free, and gluten free. I had the bistro bello on salad instead of bread, and it was delicious, especially with the mustard dressing. The green lemonade was nice and tangy, not too sweet. Banana whip is so good!

Convenient, fast, tastes great! The HipCityRanch Buffalo'd is my go-to sandwich with the chocolate shake. So good! There aren't many seats but if it's a nice day take it to go and eat at the park.

I've been here a dozen times and never leave disappointed. I love that it's totally plant based. My go-to fave is the ranch chick'n sandwich, I started craving it so much while pregnant I had to buy pickles, and vegan ranch to attempt to recreate at home! Line can be long and even for a smoothie you may be awkwardly waiting in a weird spot for 5-10 min, but it's worth it. The fries are good too.

Amazing vegan fast food option - Edit
The food is great. Going to a 100% vegan restaurant is a real treat because I can just pick what I want, instead of picking out what I can eat and making a selection from there. The employees were all very nice and smiling, with quick service and amaaaaazing food. We got the cheesesteak and burger, and while the cheesesteak was pretty good, the burger was amazing. If I didn't know I was in a completely vegan restaurant, I would have to do a double-take. But this is definitely a place to get your order to go. The restaurant is in a very small space with three or four tables (two seats each), and as soon as a line starts to form, you feel really squished in and rushed to eat because of the crowd. However, it is a great fast service vegan restaurant, and while I didn't try any of their baked goods, they all looked amazing!

I've been here twice. The first time coming with my brother and sister and just getting the frozen banana froyo type dessert, which was awesome & the second time ordering the crispy chick'n sandwich. I have a friend that lives in Philly and she text me the one day highly recommending the sandwich. Considering she's not vegetarian or vegan, it must have been awesome and she was right! Amazing! The sandwich was HUGE which never really happens at vegan restaurants. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

HipCityVeg is yet another awesome place to grab vegan food in Philly. This establishment is more of a take-out restaurant, but there are a few tables you can eat at. We came here on Sunday and tried the steak & cheese, chicken ranch sandwich, and a brownie. The steak & cheese was good, but I didn't taste any "cheese"... maybe they accidentally forgot it. I think if I ordered this again, I would also omit the ketchup, but all in all the sub was good.

My husband and I stopped here yesterday for lunch. I read reviews that this place had limited seating and sometimes long waits... But we took our chances. We waited a bit for a seat but luckily someone was leaving just as we got our food. The crummy thing I didn't like was that the fries are sweet potato fries but they don't bother putting that on the menu. That being said, their sweet potato fries were awesome, and I hate sweet potatoes. My husband got the cheese steak but we liked the one from blackbird pizza much better.

favorite lunch spot in philly - Edit
I've been here every time I visit and its always lovely. Service is great despite how busy they are, and the food is fantastic. I've had about five different things from the menu and they were all great. Their cupcakes are delicious, but I always end up scooping off half the icing. There's double icing to cake ratio. Haha but that's nothing to really complain about. We also got delivery yesterday to the convention center and the food was still super fresh and everything was packaged lovely by the time it got there.

I love this place, my husband loves this place and we go often. I gave only four stars because this place is always packed and busy. So sadly it can be hard to form a line even to order! If you aren't from the city it might be a challenge to stop here because there is a good chance you won't be able to sit down to eat. There is rittenhouse park nearby but not so cool if it is raining, or winter time. But otherwise I have little complaint about the place. I haven't ordered anything I didn't like (maybe their one shake was a little too sweet) If you want a seat, try coming during their off hours.
