- Breakfast sandwich was decent albeit a bit on the heavy side
Their sauces are amazing -- they have great drinks -- friendly staff 5/5.

Great Vegan Fast Food - Edit
I’m so glad I finally got the chance to try HipCityVeg! It’s always so nice to check out and support 100% vegan restaurants. There is indoor and outdoor seating available, paid parking right out front and it is wheelchair accessible. The staff were helpful and very friendly😄
Read moreI was pretty hungry, so I went with the Philly Cheesesteak, fries and a Tangerine Tumeric drink. The sub was stacked and very filling while also not too greasy. I really enjoyed the fluffiness of the bread! The star of the show for me was the juice. Not too sweet and SO refreshing. As a surprising bonus, I saw the cup is even plant based! They also have a compost bin next to the landfill bin- though it seems many could use a lesson on how to use it lol
I will happily return!

Was pretty busy during my visit. Staff was very nice. I think they also lowered their prices from the last time I came to visit. I can't wait to come back. I would definitely recommend the chicken nuggets and cheesestake. Make sure you ask for sauces too😄

Read moreThe chick’n was juicy and taste very similar to the real thing and the ranch sauce was spot on. The toasted bun helped keep the vegetables in place which has my vote because I’m not the biggest fan of a messy chick’n sandwich. Very good chick’n sandwich and I reckon you should definitely give it a try!

Cheesesteak not good anymore - Edit
The hipcity veg cheesesteak was better in their early years. I had it at two different suburban locations in the last year, and it was not good. Mostly it was very bland with the cheese glued throughout the seitan - reminded me of something I've made at home in the past that wasn't great (bland overcooked taste). I think they're using the wrong type of cheese for cheesesteak and the cooking technique could be improved also. The roll isn't great either texturally, but it can be hard to source vegan bread, so it could pass if the ingredients were better. I tried to get it to be less bland by getting it buffaloed and adding lettuce and tomato. Didn't help. Just isn't a commercial quality sandwich anymore.
Read moreThe chicken sandwich is decent, but I don't live that style of chicken patty that it seems everyone is using these days. Mostly I get it for the toppings and the fact that I think Beyond Burgers taste terrible, so that leaves me the "chicken" option at these vegan fast food places. The portobella sandwich was good.
I didn't care for the med salad dressing.
The shake was pretty good - they use double rainbow brand ice cream.
Hip City veg was never my favorite, but it was passable and my sibling liked the cheesesteak so I'd get it sometimes at the Rittenhouse location.
Now, it's worse with no burger patty alternatives and a ruined cheesesteak.

Read moreOn my return trip, I ordered a Med salad and some Chick'n nuggets with sriracha aioli. Much better tasting than my first experience, but it took a super long time for my food to come out (I definitely recommend ordering online ahead of time) and the portions weren't as large as I would have liked, so I'll leave this at 4 stars.

I ordered a Crispy Buffalo Bleu sandwich with sweet potato fries and HipCity Sauce, and it wasn't bad but the fries and sandwich had very little flavor (I didn't notice whatever was supposed to be the bleu cheese at all). And the HipCity Sauce was too sweet in my opinion. That all said, I didn't order one of the popular items and the location and service were great so I want to give the benefit of the doubt, which is why I'm giving a 4 (especially with the vast selection of menu items that I barely touched). So that means I'm definitely coming back soon and then hopefully I can up my rating.

This place far exceeded my expectations of vegan fast food! The chipotle wrap was PACKED with flavor, the smokehouse burger (beware: the "tangy bbq sauce" is mustard based; hubby doesn't care for mustard so that became a challenge but, I thoroughly enjoyed his burger too) was delicious but, looks NOTHING like the marketing picture. It's far smaller and doesn't have nearly the toppings that are advertised.

Those philly steaks are amazingly good. Best I’ve had. My wife likes the Chick’n sandwiches. By her estimates HipCityVeg is the least greasy/salty of the various “comfort food” vegan restaurants that we have dined at. We’ve also tried the wraps which are also good.

Absolutely the best. It’s in a cute shopping mall center so you can get shopping done near the city without being in the city! A parking area so you don’t have to pay also! We travel about 30-40 minutes away just to come here! They have the best customer service and the greatest food. My dream was to find a vegan fast food place and definitely have found it with hipcityveg.

Had the Chicken burger, it was ok. Not a fan of the sweet bun. Was with someone who has a garlic allergy. Which wasn't listed on its own on their allergen list (just had all Alliums) and foh staff were entirely unwilling to even ask the kitchen about potential suitable menu items (even just for a sauce to go with fries). A shame...... As they were also generally unwelcoming and made my 1st visit a poor one. I won't be back It's called hospitality people! Might try another outlet and see if things improve.
