Delicious Japanese flavors - Edit
Hinodeya was bustling and loud on the Friday night that I visited. We ordered by QR code. The online menu has clear markings for vegan options. There are three vegan ramen options and several appetizers. I got the green gyoza, spicy menma (bamboo shoots) and creamy ramen. (The creaminess comes from soy milk.)
Read moreEverything arrived within minutes and was delicious; the ramen especially reminded me of my recent trip to Japan. I thought the sweetness of the inari was a bit too much of a contrast with the rest of the soup, but it was certainly interesting and others may appreciate it.
You can pay extra for more spiciness; only the first level beyond “no spice” is free. We did the first level above “no spice” (“koko-kara”) and it was not spicy at all.
I’ll be back to try the other vegan ramen bowls, but probably on a weeknight when it’s quieter.
