Pretty good vegan breakfast

Had a vegan full English breakfast and it was a decent size and tasty.
Apparently they do meat free Mondays with 30% off vegan options 😊

Nice enough

There are a few vegan options and a couple of vegan cakes (the vegan chocolate cake was very good) but it certainly feels more like a nighttime place to go for a drink.

Vegan Dinner

🌱 KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower)
💰: £6.00
💭: the cauliflower was flavoursome and had a nice crispy batter. i’d have personally preferred smaller pieces rather than 2 larger pieces
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

🌱 Seitan Doner Kebab
💰: £10.50
💭: unfortunately they didn’t have seitan so they asked if it was okay to switch it to jackfruit. i’m not the biggest fan of jackfruit so it ruined the dish slightly for me. the naan was lovely
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

🌱 Crispy Tofu Katsu Curry
💰: £10.00
💭: the katsu was great but just wasn’t a big fan of the rice
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

📝: hillhead bookclub is such a nice place, very pretty inside. definitely worth a visit in that area

Pros: Great Atmosphere

A bit disappointing

The menu looked very promising, as were the reviews, but in the end the food did not meet my expectations. The portions were a bit too small. The vegan katsu curry lacked sauce and rice but it tasted fine. The vegan kebab was a bit too spicy and the sauce was overwhelming. The sticky toffee pudding was dry and just not good enough. The Biscoff brownie was however very tasty.

I think Hillhead Bookclub is a cool place to do drinks but I won’t recommend having dinner here if you want a good time and good food. There was a DJ and disco ball so it isn’t really peaceful and quiet either.

Pros: Not too expensive

Cons: Small portion, No peace and quietness

First meal out in Glasgow

Our first day in Glasgow and thought we'd try here as it was local to where we are staying on a typical constant rain summer's day. Looked online and saw that they offer Meat Free Mondays offer, with 25percent off any non-meat dish. We ordered as a mixed group (ie. Not all veggie/vegan) and some Parmesan fries were on the bill.
When we came to pay the discount was not applied. When queried the server said it was because of the Parmesan fries ??? Couldn't be bothered to argue over it but won't be going back again
Another thing is that I'd ordered a Pickleback but they didn't have the ingredients and with the Biscoff brownie they didn't have the vegan Ice cream as per the menu. The weekly vegan Special was ...a Falafel wrap 😒

Cons: Expensive , Advertised offer not applied , Wildly varied music playlist

Vegan breakfast is great!

The place is very pretty inside and the vegan breakfast is really tasty. The vegan burguer is also nice.

Pros: Good atmosphere , Good vegan options

Cons: I wish there were more vegan options, Scrambled tofu could be a bit more "solid"

Get yourself an irn-bru slushie!

I love the cocktails in here. Really inventive and tasty. The food is pretty delish too from what I've tried. Really good for a night out, very fancy, lively, special environment.

Disappointing

The menu looked promising - there were a good few vegan options and not just the usual boring ones like veggie burger etc. I went with the vegan kebab and it was disappointing and quite a small portion! Also the service was sooo slow.

Pros: Good amount of vegan options , Friendly staff

Cons: Slow service , Disappointing food , Food was cold

Lovely building decent food

Good space and vegan items are clearly marked in the main menu (not separate as previous reviews suggest).

Beetroot burger a little over crisp for knife and fork but decent taste and prompt service.

Toilets down a few stairs resemble a student nightclub very cramped and old but functional.

Expected discount on Monday but none was offered.

Pros: Plenty choice, Prompt service

Cons: Expensive when expecting discount, Toilets not an asset!

Casual eating in a beautiful building!

A varied menu with lots of vegan options to choose from.
Features a small plates list, lots of main dishes (mainly seitan based) and a varied salad list too.
I ordered cauliflower bites and nachos and had an avocado and mango salad for main.
I think the quality of food is of a fair standard but is more suited for casual pub grub than restaurant dining and the service reflects this too.
The building is beautiful though and is worth a drink and couple of small plates just to see!

Pros: Good vegan options, 25% off on Mondays , Casual

Stunning venue, great cocktails, lots of seitan.

Absolutely gorgeous location in the heart of the West End - fairy lights, good tunes, a great chilled out vibe and even a table tennis cage too! Vegan options are plentiful and delicious - loads of seitan dishes on the menu and I loved my doner kebab. Very Scottish cocktails with interesting combos. Not the cheapest but well worth it.

Could do with more vegan dessert options (only choice is a vegan cheeseboard). Brunch menu looks amazing with lots of sweet and savoury vegan choices - will be back asap!

Pros: lots of vegan mains, great cocktails, gorgeous decor.

Bar with vegan options

This is a bar is a cool looking building. They have clear vegan options on their veggie/vegan menu and staff will not bat an eye if you say you're vegan. Popular location in the West End. Gets very busy on weekends.

Pub with many vegan options

The Hillhead Bookclub is a nice place to just hang out and have a beer (the space is huge and worth a visit). There is a large veggie menu with mostly vegan options and the food seems to be pub-type food from different places; a bit undecided but interesting: Döner kebab, several burgers, tikka masala, tacos, etc. The food is not spectacular but nice and not overly expensive; particularly on Mondays, when there is a 25% discount on veggie food.

Pros: Nice venue, Large vegan menu

A bar with character!

Location is an old library which has ping pong table and board games to give a night out a unique touch. Great vegan range on separate menu, many beers / drinks to try. Ordered the Jamaican sweet potato & okra stew (was so delicious) with plenty of Omni menu options too. Would definitely come again with vegan desserts on the menu too!

Pros: unique setting, taste, atmosphere

Cons: table service
