Cosy and Friendly Place - Edit
Tans is primarily vegetarian but does sell tuna and prawns in baked potatoes and sandwiches. Apart from this the menu is 100% vegetarian. Very popular place very much like a traditional English tearoom. Friendly atmosphere, the place is run in conjunction with a local health trust offering working opportunities for people experiencing mental health issues. They have 2 main course daily specials such as vegetable curry, chilli, lasagne and always a quiche with salad. Their Christmas special roast is fabulous. There is also a range of home made cakes but none are vegan. Surprisingly they do not serve soya milk. A good choice of vegan options but they are not marked as such. Overall, a great place to visit in lovely Hexham
