Herbolario La Casa de las Plantas

This small, centrally located shop is a like a hybrid health food & new age shop. You can pick up your crystals, incense, herbs & gluten-free goodies all in one swoop. If you are looking for organic personal care products (shampoo, lotions, soaps, etc.), this is the place to go.

The shop description states "organic fresh produce", but I didn't notice any on our visit.

However, for those specialty vegan/gluten-free/organic items not available at the conventional grocery stores, it's definitely worth stopping in.

The staff seemed pleasant enough, as well.

Walking trough this lovely city I unexpectedly entered this store. First thing I saw was cheering me up. Soy, seitan, pate's, sauses, and a lot more. A lot of it, vegan friendly and biological.

Friendly, helpful people behind the counter, really doing their best to help you with everything you ask.

Small shop with a nice selection of different organic and vegetarien products. We got fresh soy sausages and Tofu there(they also got burgers). They do not have organic vegetables(but seems like it does not exist in Spain?) Besides that, more or less what you can find in any health food store. Staff is very friendly and do speak some english.

This place had VERY little vegetarian food, just one type of soy sausage, and some vegetarian burgers. They were expensive and did not taste very good. They do have some dried food, but nothing you can't get at any supermarket.

If you want vegetarian soy products (sausages, burgers, mince, etc..) in Torrevieja, you should go to the "Iceland supermarket"

This is a great health food shop that stocks lots of fabulous products such as Vital Wheat Gluten, Nutritional Yeast, TVP, organic flours, grains, pastas, almond and soya milk, soya cream, soya yoghurt, fresh tofu, seitan, vegan cheese, vegan margarine and lots lots more. Some things are cheap (like Vital Wheat Gluten - €2.50 for 500g, Nutritional Yeast - €2.65 for 150g plus all the flours (chickpea,rice,brown etc etc) are very reasonable and so is the pasta and TVP. Some things are more expensive like the Sheese - but hey at least they stock it and it is imported from the UK. All in all a most excellent shop that makes being vegan in Spain that little bit easier.
