Delicious - Edit
We ordered a carry out and wanted to try everything! We opted for a chicken sandwich with bacon and ranch, chicken strips, and a bucket. We tried the mac and cheese and the baked beans. The chicken was the best vegan chicken I’ve ever had, bar none. The breading is amazing. The mac and cheese was okay - a little dry, and the beans could have been a little saucier too, but the flavor was good. It’s a must-try place for fantastic food.

Cons: Sides had good flavor but were a bit dry

Heated up leftovers review - Edit
I've eaten here several times and have tried almost everything on the menu. It's been absolutely delicious each time, but that's when the food is served piping hot, and you eat it right away.
Read moreIf you live 30 minutes away like I do, the obvious question is, how does it taste if you pick up and wait to eat until you get home? In other words, you eat the food when it isn't piping hot anymore, and instead it's "medium hot". The answer: equally delicious!
What if you save some of your meal for next day leftovers? How does everything heat up and taste? The answer: pretty good!
(I found the microwave best for reheating mac & cheese and beans, and I found the oven best for reheating chicken, tots & biscuits. When doing this everything tasted great 24 hours later.)
Pros: Great tasting leftovers!
Cons: Almost impossible to save some for later

Amazing food! - Edit
We stopped here straight from the airport before even going to our hotel, and it did not disappoint!
Read moreThe chicken is amazing! ( so is the ranch in the side) my favorite was the biscuit with honey butter … my non vegan husband had the hot chicken sandwich and said it was one if the best sandwiches he ever had! Wish we had more room to try one of their shakes… next time! Super friendly staff too
Pros: Great food, Really friendly staff
Cons: Small inside but it was fine

To die for - Edit
Their website says their mission is to “bridge the gap for omnivores”, and they’re doing a damn good job of it. The fried “chicken” tastes better than much of the real chicken I’ve had, and it has a wonderfully pleasant texture.
Read moreThe biscuit and tots it came with were more than just filler, they were flavorful on their own. And the Butcher Sauce was a wonderful cherry on top. I also tried the Banana Cream Pie “milk”-shake, and it was excellent. The staff are friendly and accommodating too.
The only downsides? I didn't see any veggies available as sides, and this would have been perfect with some collard greens. That, and limited seating in-restaurant.
I’m simultaneously sad and happy that I don’t live near here— sad that I won’t get to eat this again any time soon, and happy that my waistline won’t bear the consequences of that 😜
Pros: The fried chicken and sides it comes with, The shakes, Friendly staff
Cons: No veggies for sides, Limited seating

Mind-blowing - Edit
I’ve been wanting to try this place for YEARS, and it did not disappoint. I got the small bucket with 2 pieces of fried chicken, tater tots, a biscuit with maple butter, and macaroni salad. I also got the honee mustard sauce. Everything was incredible! 10/10 PERFECTION. Brought my non-vegan friend and she loved it too!

Yum! - Edit
I thought $20 for the small bucket was expensive, but it was more than I could eat. It feeds two people. The chicken had a thick and crispy crust, and good flavor. The biscuit similarly was very crispy, not bad, but not quite what I expected. The hot dish side was excellent, as were the mashed potatoes and gravy. The tater tots were standard, and I wanted ketchup.

Delicious food in a cute space! 💚 - Edit
A must visit for all your fried food cravings! I always want to get a bucket meal, but end up trying a different chicken sandwich. Tots are incredibly crispy, seasoned perfectly, and not greasy.

Incredible - Edit
I was so blown away by the textures and flavors. My non vegan friends were so impressed and even said they prefer it over real chicken. The fried chicken packed a lot of flavor, and was tender and not too dense. The maple butter was as incredible as everything else, and it paired well with the biscuit! Every time I have friends that come to visit, they ask if we can eat here (both vegans and non vegans!), and I keep coming back.

Shredded Chik'n and Mac!!! - Edit
My favorite things I've tried there are the shredded barbecue chik'n and the mac and cheez. Those are excellent though the shredded barbecue sandwich is seasonal. Sometimes the mac and cheez seems like it's old and has started to "curdle" or something. My least favorite is the huge chunks of fried chicken. I think if they were a lot thinner they would be better. On a sandwich it's pretty good but again, could be better with thinner pieces. I think I just need more balanced texture? Not like a mouthful of seitan or whatever it is. Love most of the sides. Biscuits and stuff. Mmmm.

Vegan fried chicken - Edit
Get your all-vegan fried chicken meal hear. Everything from the mains to the sides is recreated without animal products. They even made the chicken into different shapes to match the different cuts. The meat was tender, and the breading was crispy. If you get the macaroni and cheese, I recommend adding the extra crispies. If you are not vegan and like fried chicken, give this a try. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

You MUST MUST MUST Eat Here - Edit
I'm one of those "Never Writes a Review" types, but I just had to review this amazing place.
Read moreFirst of all, I remember when Aubry and Kale were doing their crowdfunding campaign years ago, and hoping so much that they would hit their goal. I loved their backstory and wanted to see a vegan startup succeed. I live quite far away and had wanted to visit one of their restaurants for years.
So on vacay, we went to Herbie's two days in a row. The food blew our mind and exceeded our already high expectations by a mile. The biscuits were the best I ever had, the chicken was insane, and the mac and cheese was yummy. The milkshakes were the perfect finish.
The service was just as good as the food. When we went back the second time, Ezra was working the front counter. He was very fast and efficient. While we were eating, I was hearing how he interacted with customers and how professional he was and that's what compelled me to ask him his name and write this review. He was super well spoken, very presentable, friendly, and hardworking. It was so very refreshing to see that kind of service and respect given to myself and the other customers.
Lastly, the kitchen staff were wearing gloves, which is EXTREMELY important to me. This restaurant experience was amazing and I am so excited to see what's next for the Herbie's :-)

Vegan chicken?? Its legit - Edit
Great food. They are doing the best they can with covid restrictions and knocking out some amazing Vegan Chicken. Ordered online went and picked up at scheduled time. Everything went flawlessly. Food was as ordered and super delicious. Staff was friendly. Love this place. We live near Duluth and try to make a stop here every time we are in the cities.

I dream about the next time we are over by Herbie's so we can get more! This place is so delicious! We love taking our non-vegan friends here to try it out. The food comes out fairly quickly and I love that you can order online. The shakes are also the bomb! The staff is super wonderful and the store is always clean. We typically take our food to the park down the road so the kiddos can play and see lots of tables with some people noshing on Herbie's!
