Urban Café - Edit
Cafés are a rather rare commodity for the plant-based foodie, so it’s nice to find a place that’s café-adjacent. With a dedicated vegan food menu that slants slightly toward the Mexican variety, the Hen House effectively scratches such an itch.
Read moreThe vegan hash is a satisfying assemblage, and the unique side of apple pico is not only a cooling, tasty counterpart to the savory spread, it’s also simple and inspiring enough to potentially add to one’s own culinary portfolio.
Tending the wrap-around counter was one ranger for one riot. Adding to the experience, the man did his dutiful dance gracefully amid an orchestra of clattering silverware and plates and had that bustling, breakfast-all-day bistro spinning like a top.
So whether you have a hankering for that bygone café treatment, or are merely heading off hangriness, this is a more-than suitable stop to grab a fulfilling bite before (or for that matter during) your day in the city. 🏙️

Vegan Diner Food/Brunch - Edit
This place is pretty busy on weekends but I love the classic diner food options with an individual section for vegan food.

So many vegan options! - Edit
It's amazing to find a place I can go with my mom vegan friends and still have great options for myself. The options were hearty comfort food which was perfect after a long flight.

Cool place - Edit
Good atmosphere and food. Had to wait about 30 minutes for a table on a Sunday morning. Interesting vegan options on the menu, but a little pricy. $14 for two pancakes and $16 for a sandwich seems like a lot.

Lots of vegan menu options - Edit
I enjoyed the vegan hash. There were 5 other options on their vegan menu too. Charming place with friendly staff. It gets quite busy for Sunday brunch. We waited 35 minutes for a table for two around 11:00 am.

Separate Vegan Menu - Edit
It was great to be able to go somewhere with non-vegans that had a separate vegan menu for me. We had great service, and I asked the service for his opinion on the best vegan option. I went with the hash, as suggested and it was hearty, with two just egg folded egg patties on the side, but the flavor was just okay. I would go elsewhere with other vegans, but this is a good spot when you want something for everyone.

Too many choices - Edit
I really liked this place! There were like six options on the menu and the service was great. I had the Herby Sandwich. It had all kinds of vegan fake food: egg, cheese, pesto, etc. I was really curious, but it all tasted great! Did not expect that!

Just alright - Edit
I do always appreciate when there are separate vegan options especially at a breakfast spot. The menu is massive and its kind of a bummer they only offer about 4-5 vegan foods. I also think the vegan options (vegan hashbrown skillet and vegan "egg" sandwich) are rather boring compared to menu items with meat such as chilaquiles. I feel like chilaquiles can be made vegan fairly easily!
Read moreI had the vegan herbie sandwich with vegan egg and sausage. It was fine, but caramelized onions were a little too sweet. Hasbrowns are fantastic!
Pros: Good hashbrowns, Separate vegan section on menu
Cons: HUGE menu with only 4-5 vegan items, Vegan menu items kind of boring

Vegan breakfast all day - Edit
Has clearly marked vegan menu. 4 breakfast items (all day) and 2 lunch, plus a vegan protein bar. I've only been once but will be my new air down go to when downtown!

Cute place - Edit
Had an absolute massive menu, with a small vegan one. Food was pretty good, just wish it had more breakfast-y stuff.

cute diner with vegan menu - Edit
I appreciate when places have a separate vegan menu!
Read moreI got the Vegan Hash and while the plate presentation wasn't anything fancy, it tasted pretty good. The vegan eggs looked like tofu, which was weird but obviously doesn't affect the taste. I thought "served with tortilla chips" would mean "served on a bed of tortilla chips" and not "here's 6 chips on the side"...but the hash itself was so good I didn't really care in the end.
Seems like a good place to go if you want diner vibes, are eating with omnivores, or if you're hungover and just need some greasy vegan food. Would eat there again.
Pros: separate vegan menu, vegan meat, cheese, and eggs, lots of seating
Cons: sub-par plate presentation, menu descriptions are slightly misleading
