100% vegan, soy and gluten free - Edit
The only downside is that the location is in a rather industrial area. But the food is great, 100% vegan. You absolutely have to try her smoothies, they’re delicious! Each main dish comes with a soup and a couple of pieces of tasty dessert.

We had a wonderful meal here! The owner is incredibly friendly and makes everything herself. We had a hard time choosing because there were so many delicious options on the menu. Our lunch dishes came with soup, salad, and dessert, which made the meal even more special. We left feeling completely satisfied and can’t wait to come back!

Owner was incredible! She gave me so much food! I ordered green shake and “the Mexican”, both were amazinggg.. on top of that she gave me a soup, salad, and a dessert she was working on and wanted me to test. A whole thanksgiving feast for 22$! Definitely a family you should support who makes amazing food!

Excellent dining experience - Edit
One of the most welcoming atmospheres I’ve ever dined in. The owner/cook was so kind and seemed to really care that I had a positive experience and liked the food. The mango pie was so good and I really liked the chycken parm (I think that’s what it was called). The decorations are unique and cute. Would definitely go back if I return to Maui.

I ordered the Chocolate Rain smoothie one day and the Chocolate Strawberries smoothie another.
Read moreThe Chocolate Rain was definitely my favorite, very rich and flavourful with local bananas, cacao and a house blend of hemp, cashew and coconut milk.
The Chocolate Strawberries was also good but more fruity and less rich.
Both times the bottom of the smoothie cup had ice or fruit that was not blended hence the 4 star rating.

Hempy's Shake and Wake has a super comfy and homemade vibe. It's a true family owned spot with a very friendly and kind owner. We loved the free samples that she gave us of the daily soup and raw pies. Everything tasted incredibly good.
Read moreI tried the Dragon Fruit Loot Bowl, and it was so fresh and filling. The portion was quite large, and the price was reasonable. Also, they don't add in any sugar or fake flavors. That's how food should be. I hope to see a Hempy's location in the Bay Area someday!
The family has a dog there who might jump on you while you're eating, but a lot of customers seemed to enjoy that part too. The only real downside is that there isn't much seating, so it would be hard to bring a large group of people.

The door was locked when I arrived 15 minutes after opening time, so I called the business number and reached the owner Lisa shared that her car had broken down, and she was waiting for AAA. A woman from one of the neighboring businesses came by while I and another customer waited outside to ask Lisa's tween daughter to open the door since she was inside. She did a great job answering my questions about the menu and made a Mean Green Clean smoothie and Taco Sandwich for me. Both were delicious! Definitely want to come back and try their açai bowls and eggwich.
