Good but not that special - Edit
Very small place with a small (but fully vegan) menue. The Pho was really nice, but not that special. But the woman working there is really nice and doing all the cooking by herself, so it’s definately worth supporting! Go there and get some soup or a banh mi! It is very cheap.

Perfect banh mi - Edit
Perfect little gem where I had a perfect banh mi. The location is interesting, though it feels a bit overlooked, since we never saw a lot of people eating here. Which is unfortunate, because the food and service were superb.

Cute location and friendly service but the food was okay. Nothing special so I would prefer something else.

Amazing Pho - Edit
One of the best Phos in Hanoi. They will also prepare vegan wrap/🥪🥪 to go if you need some food and travel early in in the morning.

Very good Banh Mi - Edit
The vegan Banh Mi tasted really good! Could have contained a lottle bit more filling in my opinion but it tastes very good and fresh😄It was also very cheap for just 30.000 VND (not even 1€).

Beware it's not 100% vegan - Edit
The second time we ordered the salad it came with an egg on the side. When we asked the owner he confirmed that the mayonnaise sauce on the salad also contains egg. This was a sad suprise as there is no mention of egg or vegetarian on the menu, and vegan is in the restaurant's name. It's very misleading to serve non vegan food at a vegan restaurant with no disclaimer.
Read moreI told him he should add a mention of egg or vegetarian to the menu. Would love to see it happen.
Cons: Serves egg without mentioning it on the menu

Lovely food but time it right - Edit
I had the best summer rolls/fresh spring rolls in Hanoi here with a wonderful mix of textures inside and a delicious sauce however the second time I went back they weren't quite up to the same standard (this was just under an hour before closing so just make sure you time your visit right!)
Read moreThey also run out of some dishes towards the end of the day so again time your visit right to get the best experience.
Personally I also didn't like the vegan ham as the texture was a bit weird but the staff were happy to swap it out for tofu when I asked
Pros: Fresh Spring Rolls!!, Friendly staff
Cons: Vegan ham

Simple Vietnamese food - Edit
Cheap and quick homemade Vietnamese food. Very simple bowls of pho, rice or bread with various fillings. A bowl of pho and a drink came to 110k.

Vers & vegan - Edit

Try the Bún Riêu - Edit
The bún riêu was so fresh, and probably the best one I've had in Hanoi. I recommend coming here for that alone. If you're lucky, you might see the cute orange cat as well.

All vegan! Got food late at 9:30 pm - Edit
Almost all vegan locations in the vicinity had the kitchen closed already. Food was tasty, location is not the best, but you have tables and it’s already a plus!

Simple food in the heart of the Old Quarter - Edit
This was one of the main places I went to if I was in Old Quarter, Hanoi. There is a very obvious green sign at the front that leads into a long alleyway that leads to Hem Vegan. The food here is simple and won't win any awards for presentation, but it was nice to have a place in Old Quarter where I could find vegan food. Be sure to have cash.

Amazing Hotpot - Edit
We only got to go there once and try the hotpot, though the menu had a lot to offer I would have liked to try as well. The Thai Hotpot for two had a broth which was delicious in itself - with a lot of lemongrass and ginger - , served with different kinds of mock meat, tofu, mushrooms, beans, corn and leafy greens as well as some noodles. I particularly liked the fried tofu "skin" which would become soft when boiled in the pot as well as thr tofu which was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. By the end we were stuffed and happy. Sometimes if you are lucky there is also a cat in the restaurant.
