Such a little gem! - Edit
I’ve lived in Hackney for 20 years and walked past Helma many times. A friend of mine (non-vegan) suggested it today as he raved about their brunch so I decided to go with him. I was pleasantly surprised that the cafe is all vegetarian and very vegan friendly. I had the delicious Helma bowl with tempeh and it didn’t disappoint . The staff were all lovely and very friendly so I will definitely be back!

Good for vegans, lovely location - Edit
On-street seating which was ideal during the heatwave. We had the mixed mushrooms on toast with tahini and iced coffee - very good. Staff friendly and accommodating of vegans. The inside was hot with no A/C, so we were lucky to have nabbed the table outdoors.

The quality of the food here exceeded my expectations. No cold, thin tortilla for your lunchtime wrap here. Warm, fluffy laffa flatbread of epic proportions was filled with expertly cooked quinoa polpette and paprika-spiced cauliflower among many other delights. Especially amazing considering the mediocre offerings that pass for a £10 lunch in London for takeaway let alone dine in. Food is made to order so there is a short wait but it's well worth it.

The service, vibe and playlist were all delightful too. I loved the terrarium feature on the communal table and the display of Bold Bean Co catering cans (I thought the jars were big!) 😍

Really nice vegetarian place with vegan options (I wish they where more!). Service is slow so don’t go if you’re in a hurry, but it is a lovely place.

Great cozy lunch place and coffee shop. Friendly staff, simple but trendy interior. Healthy soulfood, very vegan friendly, creative menu with a personal touch. Love the home made kombucha and the charcoal activated water. Very hip place, you feel straight at home
