No food on Wednesdays. - Edit
After much research online looking for decent vegan options in the area we decided to give this place a go. Only to turn up and be told they don’t serve food on Wednesdays. How disappointing! If only they had taken the time to update their website and or post on their Facebook/instagram pages I would have seen this in my research. Plenty of families came in while we were there only to be told the same so it definitely isn’t readily available information. Luckily there was a Mexican food truck outside which had one vegan option so we settled for this as time was short.

Not the best - Edit
Rang to book in, arrived and they didn’t have the booking logged but were told “well it doesn’t matter you’re here now” which didn’t make us feel overly welcome. We were told over the phone that the lasagne could be made vegan but that wasn’t the case, only the burger and the nachos were vegan. Overall the staff were not educated on what vegan means and had a couldn’t really care attitude. Upon ordering food I was asked “what can I get for you mr vegan man” which felt discriminatory and belittling. Service was slow but the food was okay although for the price paid I wasn’t impressed.

Decent vegan options - Edit
The pub doesn’t look like much and is quite traditional but if you find yourself in Hele Bay the staff are very friendly and the vegan options are decent. I had a nice vegan burger and my boyfriend had nachos with vegan chilli and vegan cheese.
