Delicious vegan curries - Edit
Went two times, really reasonably priced (£8 for a meal deal for one - biryani rice with two curries)
Read moreOf the four or five or so curries they offered, only one wasn’t vegan (paneer). Curry options change every day. The only other thing on their menu which isn’t vegan (as far as I can tell) is the lassis.

Good Sattvic food - Edit
This small restaurant has a very limited sit in capacity and a wide range of products for sale (rice, Indian groceries and so on, along with ayurvedic medicines). It serves Sattvic food and has a large Hare Krishna altar behind the till. Their food is mass prepared in advance and there is a good selection. Sometimes I get the feeling that it’s not amazingly fresh, but it’s nice and authentic, and 100% vegan. Not bad value- you can get 2 small curries and biryani for £8 at time of writing. Some things they serve are hard to get in Belfast, and kudos to them for having a couple of locations. Must say as well, some of their food has occasionally upset my digestion- and I get on very well with spicy things in general!

Tiny portions in Great Victoria st - Edit
I went the first time and was disappointed at how small the food portions were. Huge portion of rice but only a few spoonfuls of curry. Another day I was stuck for lunch options so went back here only to find the place closed. At lunchtime. This is another place where owners will be totally baffled when it all fails. Very disappointing- it had real potential.

Amazing food, friendly owners - Edit
So, I never ever give 5 stars to a place which isn't fully vegan but, honestly, this really deserves it! So much of what they sell is vegan and the rest is veggie. We bought lots of food to take away and eat where we are staying. Two curries and a lovely rice dish for £7 is amazing value. There's great sweets too! Very highly recommended 💚

Delicious food - Edit
So pleased to have another veggie spot in Belfast and this one is well located on the busy Lisburn Road. A good selection of curries (vegetarian and vegan) along with other sundries - samosas etc Mostly take away with a bench inside for eating in. I wish I had of bought more to try at home. It warrants another visit.

Incredible - Edit
Went here for the first time. But it won’t be the last. Went in expecting to have one or two options but every curry available was vegan friendly and the breads and samosas etc. Ended up making pigs of ourselves and getting one of everything we could. The gentleman explain that he makes different curries each day so it’s never the same menu. Which just makes he want to go back every day and try it all. Food was incredible.

Krsna - Edit
Well, this appears to be an ISKCON place, meaning that the food will be catered for volume, plentiful and reasonably priced, as well as ceremonially offered to Sri Krishna before you eat it.
Read moreHappy to be corrected if that isn't the case.
Not that I'm a huge fan of ISKCON, but their food is great. The difference is the food doesn't have "sense inflaming" garlic or chilli in it, which somewhat rounds the curry base out. I reckon it's a good entry point for people new to Indian cuisine, being easily digestible and pleasant tasting.
Much of it, but not all, is vegan, partly as the cow is revered by them. They do commit to lifetime welfare for cows as a group.
All that aside, the food will not overpower you with strong flavours, but it's very healthy and ayurvedically sound as well as being, for the amount you get, cheap.
Menu rotates daily and it's worth your time, especially at lunch.
Sad the trays are, for now, plastic, but that pretty much the only downside.
Extra star for location offerings and speed of service. The stuff is ladelled into your tray, so service is very fast.
Pros: Govindas food
Cons: Monotheism
