CLOSED: Healthway Natural Foods

This is a small and friendly shop with many vegan and natural items available. Organic, not-tested-on-animals, etc type of products are plentiful here. As others have said, they do sell meat products, but also lots of popular veg*n items such as Bob's Red Mill items, nutritional yeast, and the BIG jars of vegenaise! Also, they try to accommodate requests and have ordered items for us specially that they don't normally carry. A little pricey but a great spot to search for things you cannot find elsewhere.

The sales clerk (maybe an owner), Marilyn, a kind soft spoken retired nurse was able to help me locate all the supplements I was searching for to help with my anemia (Spirulina and Hema-Plex). Also she was able to recommend three teas which may be helpful for that too. My boyfriend and I spent a half and hour and 75 dollars in there on my supplements, a box of rasberry tea, spirutein shake, cran. almond granola, clif bars and various other healthy treats. I am going back tommorrow to get DIM and Green tea supplements to heal my cervical dysplasia. If you are new to health food stores this is one that will give you a proper introduction. The workers are kind, generous, and have charecter. The store offers something for all levels of healthful invokations you may be tuning into. Traffic in and around the store was business as usual. This store also sells books but I didn't get a chance to look at them. Don't be shy to try something new or ask any questions here. Ask and you shall receive. Be patient and honest and take care AND I recommend Healthway to everyone. Please mind your consumption and it's packaging.

This location is very convenient to Martin's supermarket (where I shop anyway). The staff is always helpful. Though this is not 100% vegetarian, they carry many vegan items and are usually willing to add to inventory or special order for you. They've even offered to accept open / used returns if I bought a new product and didn't care for it. This way I haven't wasted any money.
