Great store - Edit

If I lived closer, I would visit Healthtree on a regular basis. There is a great variety of products, vegan cheeses, vegan meats, vegan mac n cheese, everything!

Pros: Variety

Great store with awesome brands - Edit

This is my go-to store in case I need something from Green Beaver, Kiss My Face, Jason or GardeIn. Healthtree has a great selection of not only personal care products and frozen food, but supplements, organic veggies and fruits, etc. Definitely worth a try!

Pros: Great selection of organic products, One stop store for all health products

Award winnig store - Edit

Healthtree is one of the top health food stores in Quebec. They won the Canadian Health Food Associations award for excellence in both 2007 and 2011. This award goes to the best health food store and is awarded every two years in Quebec. The store has great staff including two naturopathic doctors from the Canadian college of naturopathic medicine in Toronto. The store carries a large selection of organic produce, meats and groceries. They recently renovated the store and it feels so much larger.
As someone who works in the health food industry I get to see many stores and there are few with the quantity and quality of supplements in all of Canada. Prices are good and the level of customer service is friendly and professional. They are a pleasure to deal with professionally which reflects well on the ownership and management. One store serving their community with passion and love. They sponsored almost 40 families in need this past christmas with food baskets cosmetics cleaning products and vegetarian foods. A new website is really nice way to see what the store looks like and to see whats on special.

Pros: friendly staff, 100% organic produce, great everyday prices

Cons: only one store, no bulk

Great stop - Edit

This is a wonderful place for vegans if you are in the West Island. I find the selection tremendous, and the prices are actually fairly reasonable. They always have loads of things on special, and you can find some lovely vegan treats there that are very hard to find anywhere else. Don't miss if you are in the area!

A West Island Haven - Edit

Without Health Tree I'm not sure there would be any point to living in the West Island district of Montreal. Surprisingly it is one of the only establishments within this part of Montreal that truly caters to the health/humane - especially vegetarians - and eco-conscious among us. Health Tree has been serving a community that desperately needs it over the past 20 years.

While Health Tree is not an outstanding health food/product store it is certainly satisfactory at the very least. From nutritional supplements to personal care and hygiene products to eco-friendly cleaning products, household items and pet food the selection is impressive. In respect to selection of food Health Tree kind of misses the mark. I get the impression that it is not their aim to be a top notch grocer. Still, they do have a fair variety of organic produce along with organic dairy and meat plus many specific vegetarian and vegan-friendly items.

All in all, Health Tree deserves a 3 out of 5 rating on the Island of Montreal but considering its distance from downtown and any other health food/product store I happily give it a 4 on 5.

Pros: One-of-a-kind in West Island, Good vegetarian and vegan selection

Cons: Hours of operation not great

TRaeCH 18 Dec 2010 - That is a fair criticism LeRaine. Since HealthTree expanded in 2010 they may have increased their hours of operation Mon-Wed. As it stands currently, I find that their hours of business are good, but not great.
