Health for Life cafe - Claremont, Cape Town - Edit
I hoovered on in here and the first thing I noticed after being given a warm welcome by the waitress was that vegan items are cleared marked as such on the menu - always a winner.
On my 1st visit I was after some breakfast. I noticed that none of the cooked breakfasts were marked as vegan. I asked the waitress if I could have a vegan combo of the ingredients in the cooked breakfasts listed on the menu. I was told this would be no problem and sure enough it wasn't - fried mushrooms, friend tomatoes, a couple of fry's veg*n sausages and salad along with my choice of either white, brown or rye bread toasted - not bad at all.
What I did find surprising was that they didn't have any non dairy spread. I had been given olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dress the salad so I used the olive oil with the toast.
Pros: vegan veggie friendly

Restaurant is upstairs from the Health Store, and was very empty when we went. menu is the same as Health for Life in Gardens, very extensive with many vegan options. Staff was very helpful. Salads were fresh and a good portion size. Watch out for the salad dressing which comes with Vegan salads, as it is not vegan.
