I thought I’d had good and authentic Thai food. Then I ate at Hattapon’s. That’s when I realized that every other Thai meal I ever had featured food dyes and thickeners.
So the sauces are thin and a little grayer than you might be used to, but the flavor is like an explosion in your mouth. Just totally off the hook.
When you get there, you’ll seat yourself, peruse the menu and write your order on a piece of paper. Hand it to the lady behind the counter. She’ll ask you a series of questions about your order to make sure you know the ingredients, etc. and then the best food you’ve ever eaten will appear in front of you.
This place is amazing. The two ladies working there are incredibly nice and accommodating. I love their curries as well as their fresh spring rolls. They also have a good tom khar which can be made without meat, something I haven't experienced at other Thai restaurants. The papaya salad is a wonderful spicy addition to the meal too. I highly recommend this place whether you want to eat in or take out.
I love the papaya salad and soup here. Most items can be made vegan if you ask since everything is made to order. Food is reasonably priced and even when they're busy, there's never a long wait. Great spot for a quick lunch !
